Acclaimed country singer-songwriter Colter Wall has announced an indefinite hiatus from the stage, revealing to fans that he is currently “mentally unwell.”
Fans had seen the sign after he abruptly canceled his Sunday show just a few minutes before he was set to take the stage.
Colter Wall also seems to have taken a dislike to leaving his personal space, as Post Malone revealed he’d been trying to record a song with him, but always hit a dead end, while Joe Rogan shared that it has been difficult trying to get him on his podcast.
Colter Wall Hits The Brakes On His Tour Due To Mental Health Issues

Colter Wall won’t be performing for a while as he revealed in a social media update that he’s currently grappling with mental health issues and would need some time away.
The Canadian singer, who has been actively touring in 2026 as part of his “Memories & Empties” Tour, which began in January, told fans in a statement on Wednesday that he’s “mentally unwell.”
“The truth is that I am mentally unwell,” he said. “Despite this, I have pushed myself to continue with touring. As a result, my mental health has only further declined.”
“After discussions with my team, we have decided to cancel the remaining shows and take an indefinite hiatus from live music,” Wall continued, before adding details on how fans who bought tickets will be refunded.
Wall’s 2026 run so far comes on the back of a successful 2025 tour, where he had a major North American showing that kicked off in September 2025, in Welch, Minnesota.
The tour included stops in the U.S. and Canada, featuring cities like Milwaukee, Chicago, Winnipeg, and Las Vegas.
The Singer Abruptly Canceled A Show Because Of His Health
Wall seemingly hinted that he was struggling with his mental health when he abruptly called off a scheduled Sunday night performance in Evansville, Indiana, barely a few minutes before he was set to take to the stage, leaving concertgoers stunned and concerned.
This isn’t the first time the 30-year-old musician decided to hit the brakes on touring as he canceled his February and March 2025 dates due to “personal reasons” relating to his mental and physical health.
Wall has enjoyed a stellar rise in the music industry since he released his 2015 EP, “Imaginary Appalachia,” and has gained prominence as a country star with songs like “Sleeping on the Blacktop” and “The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie.”
Fans React To Colter Wall’s Announcement About His Mental Health

Several fans took to social media to wish Wall well after he revealed he was canceling his shows.
“I’m glad he had a supportive enough team behind him to make the call. The world needs him around, even if he doesn’t tour,” an X user wrote.
Another person said, “Gotta keep that guy in my prayers, the world needs that cowboy to keep cowboying. Hope he gets back to the farm and finds joy.”
“Understandable,” a third user commented. “I hope he gets through whatever he’s going through.”
Some Netizens Were Not Too Happy About The Singer’s Recent Show Cancellations
Amid the show of support, few fans seemed to have reservations about Wall’s decisions lately.
“Sort of ruins the whole cowboy songs thang,” one user penned under a post about Wall’s announcement.
Another fan added, “Bro cancels more shows than he actually does.”
“Colter Wall announcement … oh my lord I ain’t ever gonna get to see him live,” a third person lamented.
Post Malone And Joe Rogan Shared How Difficult They Found It Linking Up With Colter Wall

Just how long Wall has been struggling with mental health issues remains unknown.
However, rapper Post Malone shared last year that he found it difficult getting Wall out of his space for them to record a song together.
According to Holler, the “Rockstar” singer made the revelation during an appearance on Joe Rogan’s “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, after he asked the host what kind of music he appreciates, to which he said he loves country music.
Rogan then mentioned Zach Bryan, Jelly Roll, and Sturgill Simpson as three of his favorite artists in country music at the time, before Post Malone responded, “It’s Sturgill [Simpson], Tyler [Childers] and Colter [Wall], right now, for me.”
This prompted Rogan to reveal how he had found it hard to get Wall away from his Canadian home, before Post Malone shared his own experience.
“I hit up Colter, I was like, ‘Hey man, you wanna come, like, jam out some time? Like, let’s make a song.” And he was like, ‘You can come make a song…on the ranch.'”
“I was like, ‘Okay, cool, amazing.’ I’m gonna make it up one of these days,” he added.
