Courtney Love and Dave Grohl, who were once embroiled in a public feud, which included legal issues, verbal jabs, and scandalous accusations. Despite having buried the hatchet, some of the rock star’s fans still criticize the singer.
Love is now urging the Foo Fighters frontman to inform his fanbase that there’s no longer bad blood between them, hoping to end the lingering hostility his fans have toward her.
Courtney Love Says She And Dave Grohl Are ‘Cool’

On the April 1 episode of Billy Corgan’s podcast “The Magnificent Others,” Love talked about being criticized by the media and online users, singling out Grohl and his fanbase. The singer wants Grohl to publicly acknowledge that they are no longer fighting to lessen the vitriol against her.
“Like come out with it and just say we’re cool. Like come out with it. Right?” she said, adding, “Be man enough to man up.”
In Love’s opinion, Grohl is “afraid” to say it out loud because he could lose “his straight male” fans. “It would really behoove me if the straight while males that are your base, if you will, stop picking on me,” Love said.
Dave Grohl Has Written A Song About The Former Hole Vocalist

Corgan said he could confirm that Grohl no longer has issues with Love, saying, “I can confirm that I’ve spent time with you and Dave together, and Dave doesn’t have any issue with you,” he said, to which Love replied, “Say that to his base. It’s so stupid.”
Love then talked about the songs Grohl allegedly wrote about her, saying that she couldn’t write a song about the rocker “to save my life.” “He’s written like, four songs about me and they’re hits. I’m like, wait what? Like, what about me? I don’t get it,” she said.
Grohl has confirmed that at least one of his songs was about Love. The 1995 Foo Fighters song “I’ll Stick Around” was written shortly after Love’s husband Kurt Cobain’s death, and at that time, Love and Grohl were feuding.
In an interview with his biographer, Paul Brannigan, in 2009, Grohl admitted, “I don’t think it’s any secret that ‘I’ll Stick Around’ is about Courtney. I’ve denied it for 15 years, but I’m finally coming out and saying it. Just read the f-cking words!”
The Two Singers Were Once Embroiled In A Legal Battle

When Love and Cobain were married in 1992, the latter’s Nirvana bandmate, Grohl, was one of the select few attendees. It seemed Love had a good relationship with Grohl, that was, until after Cobain’s death in 1994. The two exchanged public jabs, with Grohl criticizing Love’s songwriting, and Love calling the Nirvana drummer a “stupid motherf-cker.”
Several years later, Love wanted to terminate Nirvana L.L.C., the entity formed to manage the legal rights and legacy of Nirvana, which included Cobain, Grohl, and Krist Novoselic. Love argued that Nirvana wasn’t a “partnership,” saying that it was the “living manifestation of the creative vision, personal will and life force of a single unique individual,” which she said was Cobain.
They had a legal battle in the early 2000s, but the issue was settled in September 2002. Nirvana’s legacy remains jointly managed by Grohl, Novoselic, and Cobain’s estate.
Courtney Love Once Accused Dave Grohl Of Hitting On Her Daughter

In 2012, Love accused Grohl of hitting on her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, who was then 19 years old. In a tweet, she wrote, “I hear from frannies roommate that @davegrohl hit on frances. And that she was curious, I’m not mad at her, him I am about to shoot, dead.”
Grohl issued a statement via his rep, saying, “Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful twitter rant. These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue.”
Frances, who was estranged from her mother at that time, also addressed the accusation. She said she typically doesn’t respond to news about her mother, but said her “tirade has taken a gross turn.” She then denied Love’s claim, saying, “I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I’m in a monogamous relationship and very happy.”
Courtney Love And Dave Grohl Reconciled In 2014
Nirvana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, and backstage, Love and Grohl approached each other. “We gave each other a big hug. I said, ‘How are you?’ She goes, ‘Good, how are you?’ I said, ‘All right.’ And she said, ‘Let’s do this. Let’s rock this tonight’,” Grohl said, recalling the moment they decided to let go of the past. “We’re family, no matter what. And we all love each other, no matter what,” Grohl added.
Love also confirmed their reconciliation in an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” shortly after the induction ceremony, telling the host, “We just picked up where we left off after 20 years of suing one another. We’re cool, we’re totally tight,” she shared.
