Jacob Elordi’s past comments about "Euphoria’s" unconventional filming style are resurfacing after Season 3’s debut. The Jacob Elordi’s Blunt ‘Euphoria’ Comments Resurface first appeared on The Blast
In resurfaced comments about how “Euphoria” is filmed, Jacob Elordi did not sugarcoat things.
As fans dive into the new episodes of the long-awaited Season 3, the actor’s previous remarks have offered a rare glimpse into how the series comes together.
Elordi, who plays troubled high school football player Nate Jacobs, revealed that scripts were not always fully fleshed out. In a blunt assertion, he compared the experience to “throwing sh-t at the wall and seeing what would stick.”
Fans Question Jacob Elordi’s ‘Euphoria’ Script Reveal

As chatter around “Euphoria” ramps back up, one detail from Elordi’s past interview is catching fresh attention… and raising eyebrows.
Speaking months before the Season 3 premiere, Elordi revealed that scripts weren’t always fully mapped out during filming, with pages sometimes coming in day by day. That meant he had to lean heavily on instinct, filling in emotional and narrative gaps for Nate in real time.
Now that the new season is finally out, that admission is landing differently. On Reddit, fans picked apart the approach, with some calling it “really weird,” while others floated more practical explanations, including tighter leak control or last-minute rewrites.
That latter theory has also pulled creator Sam Levinson into the conversation, with some viewers speculating he may have been adjusting scenes on the fly.
The Actor Said Limited Prep Time Shaped His Performance

In the same interview, Elordi also opened up about how little time he had to prepare before stepping into scenes, a stark shift from the more methodical process he’d relied on in past roles.
“I had no time to get ready for it,” he said. “And I didn’t have scripts in any full sense. I sort of just had creative conversations with Sam, so I had no choice.”
That lack of preparation ended up working in his favor, however. Without a fully structured script to dissect, Elordi leaned into instinct, approaching scenes with a far more experimental mindset.
“Because I had no choice, I got to be free in the acting process, ’cause it was kind of just throwing sh-t at the wall and seeing what would stick,” he explained.
Jacob Elordi Remains Deeply Connected To His ‘Euphoria’ Character

Long before Euphoria expanded into multiple seasons, Elordi had already made it clear just how complex he found Nate to be.
Speaking with WMagazine in 2021, the actor didn’t hold back, describing the character as “an emotional terrorist, a narcissist, a sociopath, a freak.”
Years later, that connection hasn’t faded. Despite Nate’s darker traits, Elordi says stepping into the character has shaped him in unexpected ways, particularly in understanding perspectives far removed from his own.
“I love him,” he said. “I act to understand a different experience, to express an experience that’s different to my own. Playing him taught me a lot about empathy and patience, which is strange with a character like that.”
Elordi Says Playing Nate Jacobs Changed How He Sees People
Reflecting on what he’s taken from the role, Elordi said portraying Nate in “Euphoria” has given him a deeper lens into human behavior. This perspective is one that the actor believes more people could apply in everyday life.
The rising A-lister explained that the process of studying and breaking down a character at that level is a rare privilege, but also a useful exercise beyond acting. In his view, approaching real-life relationships with the same curiosity could lead to better understanding, whether it’s with people close to us or even strangers online.
“If we could all sort of just approach those relationships like an actor breaking down a character, I do think that we’d have a little bit more calm in the world,” Elordi said. “I can look at everything that he does and maybe not understand it, but I can at the very least empathize.”
