Kathy Hilton has been appearing on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” as a “friend” of the show for the last several seasons. Over the years, she’s been involved in some drama with her co-star Lisa Rinna and her sister Kyle Richards. But for the most part, Hilton receives much praise from the Bravoverse because of the kooky, lighthearted presence she brings to the program. However, in a new interview, Paris and Nicky Hilton’s mother said she doesn’t consider herself an “airhead” at all, stating the show is edited to give that effect.

Hilton has had many headline-making moments on “RHOBH,” from mistaking Garcelle Beauvais for her sister, Richards, to accidentally walking on a runway during a live fashion show. Other moments have been etched into Bravo history, including the time she asked her co-stars, “Who’s Hunky-Dory?” during an intense argument.

But Hilton said that those moments aren’t all that she has to offer. “I do not consider myself to be an airhead. My best friend has told me I’m eccentric,” Hilton told Vulture during a recent interview honoring reality TV’s most impactful personalities.

“For the first time in my life, I get to just be myself. But you have to realize things are edited. I know who ‘Hunky-Dory’ is. Okay? I’ve said it a million times: It was just to get Sutton out of her rut and her bad mood, and I thought she would laugh at me. That didn’t happen. And all the girls’ reactions at the table were funny,” Hilton said.

What Does Kathy Hilton Dislike Most About ‘RHOBH’ Viewers?

Elsewhere during the interview, Hilton got candid about the one thing she dislikes most about “RHOBH” viewers.

“When they think that I am cuckoo,” she said. “I don’t consider myself stupid. It’s the way things are cut, and that’s fine. “I get nervous.”

As an official “friend” of the show, Hilton appears at group events every now and then and often attends the big cast trip abroad.

Consequently, Hilton said she doesn’t get the chance to work with the entire cast, noting that their distance keeps her out of the loop.

“I don’t film with everybody,” Hilton said. “I work maybe two days a week, sometimes three. And if you notice, there’ll be a group; maybe I’ll be with one person or two people. And then the other girls, they’re up the road doing something else, filming. So a lot of people ask, ‘How was Dorit?’ I said, ‘I don’t know. I didn’t film with her this year, so I don’t know all the scoop.” If I did, I wouldn’t tell you.”

But are there any “RHOBH” cast members Hilton feels are different on camera than they are off it?

“I will tell you one thing, though. I know this much: These girls are exactly the same, and they end up loving each other,” Hilton said, emphasizing that they’re not “phonies.”

The socialite went on to say that people should take her stance as the truth, noting that, as a recurring cast member, she has nothing to lose.

“Nobody is whispering in our ear telling us what to do or say. I even thought that was the way it would be, and I thought, I’m not letting anybody do that with me. They just get to that point with each other,” she said.

What Does Hilton Think About ‘RHOBH’ Villains?

While “RHOBH” viewers tend to enjoy Hilton’s comedic presence on the show, the mother of four has gotten down and dirty with marquee players, including Erika Jayne and Rinna.

During one season, Hilton feuded with the “Days of our Lives” alum at the season’s explosive reunion, calling her the “biggest bully in Hollywood.”

Hilton wasn’t a fan of being in the hot seat that season, and during her recent sit-down, she implied that the drama went too far—even for “Real Housewives.”

“I think that it’s nice to have drama, but I don’t think it always has to be about a fight. We’re going through such a difficult time in this world right now, and I think people are staying home a lot more, and they want to be entertained and see pretty things. To laugh a little bit, kind of enjoy themselves,” she said.

Hilton Dealing With Lawsuit

According to a previous report from The Blast, Hilton is in the middle of a legal dispute with a woman named Kimberly Heffington, who claimed she was injured attending an event at Hilton’s sprawling Bel-Air mansion.

Per the court documents, Heffington is requesting that Hilton pay medical bills and other fees related to the August 2024 injury, claiming that Hilton had no warning signs of possible hazards on her property.

Hilton, however, recently argued that she shouldn’t be held liable for Heffington’s injuries, reportedly stating that the woman’s injuries happened after coming in contact with a “known danger.”
