During a recent episode of her “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast, the TV host revealed she tried microneedling on a very unexpected area in hopes of improving her appearance. 

Instead, the treatment left her unimpressed. With her usual humor, Ripa shared exactly what happened, while also revisiting her past cosmetic choices and candid moments from her life with husband Mark Consuelos.

Kelly Ripa got candid about a beauty treatment that fell flat while speaking on her “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast. 

During a conversation with Lukas Gage, she revealed she tried microneedling on her “*ss cheeks” in hopes of achieving a more lifted and youthful look.

The results, however, were not what she expected. Ripa admitted the procedure didn’t make any noticeable difference, saying her backside looked “as old as before.” 

Still, she didn’t shy away from poking fun at herself, joking that “desperate times call for desperate measures.”

Ripa Shares Honest Thoughts On Cosmetic Enhancements

Kelly Ripa has built a reputation for being open about her approach to cosmetic procedures. 

From small treatments to bigger possibilities, she has shared her evolving mindset over the years.

Earlier this year, she revealed she had Botox injected into her armpits, an unusual choice that quickly got people talking. 

She has also mentioned that a facelift could be something she considers in the future, showing she’s not opposed to change.

However, when it comes to breast enhancement, Ripa remains hesitant. 

Speaking on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast in 2025, she explained her hesitation, saying, “We know that I’m flat-chested. It’s not a mystery at this point. It’s almost a point of pride.”

The actress admitted that curiosity still led her to consultations. “Like, every time I hear about the new boob guy, I go, and I have a consult,” she shared. 

However, after seeing negative outcomes, she added, “It, like, talks me right out of it.”

Ripa’s honesty extends beyond beauty into her personal life, especially her relationship with husband Mark Consuelos. The couple often shares playful and relatable moments from their daily routine.

One of the TV host’s most talked-about jokes involves her nighttime habit, which she revealed during a conversation on “Live with Kelly and Mark.” 

She explained that when she puts in her retainer, it sends a clear message, saying per the Daily Mail, “He hears the retainer pop in, it’s like a chastity belt.” 

Consuelos added his own take, joking, “When you put it in, it’s like, click, click, click. Alright, guess I’m going to bed.”

Their banter didn’t stop there. During a conversation about koalas, Consuelos joked, “I come to bed with my little eucalyptus leaf, and I’m like, ‘Hey, you want to fool around? No? Okay.’”

The couple has also been open about their preferences, with Ripa explaining she prefers evenings over mornings. 

“There needs to be a yin and a yang here… And my way’s at night only,” she said, before joking about how “repulsive” mornings can feel.

Howie Mandel Says He ‘Kind Of Regrets’ Apologizing To Ripa

Recently Kelly Ripa made the headlines after Howie Mandel admitted he regrets publicly apologizing to her after their awkward on-air exchange, saying the move didn’t feel true to him. 

As The Blast reported, the comedian said he didn’t believe comedians should apologize for jokes, explaining, “I don’t believe in apologizing.” 

He also added that he “kind of” regretted making the apology in the first place. He explained that the backlash escalated quickly online, and he felt pressured to respond before the situation grew worse.

According to Mandel, he tried to calm things down by agreeing with critics and taking responsibility, even though he didn’t think his comment was offensive. 

However, the apology didn’t stop the conversation, and in hindsight, he believed it may have drawn even more attention to the moment. 

He also admitted he still didn’t fully understand why the reaction was so intense, stressing that his intent was humor, not insult.

What Really Happened Between Mandel And Kelly Ripa On-Air

The awkward exchange happened on “Live with Kelly and Mark” when Consuelos noted Mandel had just turned 70, and Kelly Ripa added that it “doesn’t make any sense,” praising how youthful he looked. Consuelos followed up by telling him he “look[s] great.” 

Instead of accepting the compliment, Mandel pushed back immediately, saying, “I don’t like that,” and arguing that it sounded like a backhanded remark. 

He explained that saying someone looked great at 70 came with a hidden meaning, insisting they were implying “for your age.” 

He then compared it to calling someone “smart for a stupid person,” which created an awkward pause and nervous laughter in the studio. 

Ripa tried to clarify that she meant he looked great overall, not just for his age, but Mandel continued to question the compliment before eventually joking, “I’m gorgeous,” easing the tension. 

Following the awkward conversation, Mandel made a post on Instagram, explaining his comments and apologizing for his actions.
