A week after the tragic death of singer and artist Oliver Tree in a helicopter crash, his team is determined to honor his memory by working to fulfill the plans and wishes he left behind. Just months before his passing, Tree talked about setting up a foundation and giving back to music artists. Tributes to the singer are still pouring in, with friends and fans reflecting on the profound impact Tree had on their lives.

Oliver Tree’s Foundation Is ‘Coming Soon’

On June 21, Oliver Tree’s team posted an update on the singer’s social media. The post thanked the singer’s supporters who have offered their love and support to Tree’s friends and family. “The constant love, support and positivity is helping the family, friends and collaborators make it through these extremely difficult times,” the post read.

The update included a carousel of photos showing photos of Tree, including snaps from his adventures around the world.

“His legacy will live on through his foundation/endowment named ‘Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Grant for Baby Geniuses’ coming soon,” the post noted, adding that Tree had arranged it long before his passing and added it to his will. “We will make sure his wish comes to fruition so that more joy, love and art can be spread into the world, that was his final wish,” the caption noted.

The Singer Revealed Plans To Launch A Foundation

As previously reported by The Blast, Tree, born Oliver Tree Nickell, talked about his will in an appearance on the “Zach Sang Show” in April. The “Alien Boy” singer told the host that his will was set up so that his money would “go back to artists.”

Despite having a good relationship with his family, he noted that “no one’s going to get a penny.” Instead, his wealth will go to Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Grant for Baby Geniuses. “It’s set up so that basically the interest generated from my music will take mostly that,” he said, adding that he figured his songs would be worth more after he passed.

Tree has released four major studio albums. In 2020, 2022, and 2023, he released three studio albums with Atlantic Records. His last album, “Love You Madly Hate You Badly,” was released in April under his own record label, Alien Boy.

Tree’s parents were influential in the artist’s love for music. In an interview with ICON, he said both his parents, Christine and Jesse, worked in the circus, and for a while, they travelled with the circus and lived in a motor home. “I grew up playing music with my parents, they had instruments that covered the wall of our motor home when we were travelling with the circus,” he said.
