The comedian has responded to circulating claims about her return to America to compete in “Dancing With The Stars” over one year after she relocated to Ireland.
Rosie O’Donnell moved across the world to be with her youngest child, Clay O’Donnell, in a timeline that coincided with President Donald Trump’s inauguration after she spent months convincing Americans not to vote for him.
Rosie O’Donnell Found The News Of Her Return ‘Funny’

The media personality took to Instagram with a witty reaction to news of her return to America after over one year away. O’Donnell uploaded an AI-generated picture of her wearing a sparkling green dress with very curly hair, posing like a dancer in the ballroom.
The caption on the picture had claimed that the comedian was making her debut on the 35th season of the competition series, describing her return as “Epic.” O’Donnell declared in the caption that she found the post very funny, saying: “This made me laugh. Reminds me to never get a perm!!! Completely untrue but funny.”
When the politician returned to the White House, he notably threatened to revoke the comedian’s citizenship several times due to her criticism of his administration. As soon as O’Donnell announced that she had applied for Irish citizenship, Trump’s camp was beyond excited to hear the report, describing it as great news for America.
Fans Had A Fun Fest Under The Actress’s Post

O’Donnell’s Instagram post earned hundreds of comments from fans and followers who equally found her post very funny and wished it were true that she returned to the United States.
“The hair was the give away for me oxox,” this user wrote as another fan added that while no one talks about perm trauma, it is real and runs deep. Another curious commenter asked if she was actually interested in making a return, to which O’Donnell declared a resounding “no” in the replies.
“Is this fact, Rosie, you bout to be dancing with the stars, you better work,” one more Instagram user stated, while an Irish commenter bragged that O’Donnell is for the Irish folks now and has been adopted. Another follower suggested that O’Donnell should start charging people for living rent-free in their heads, while this fan voiced their preference for O’Donnell with straight hair.
Rosie O’Donnell Entered The United States Stealthily For A Background Check

In February, The Blast shared that the comedian took a trip to the United States and spent two weeks just running things in the background to see if the coast was clear for her and her daughter to spend the summer. She revealed that she was curious about entry and exit into the country and felt a strong desire to reconnect with her remaining kids, who still resided in the country.
“I also wanted to make sure that it was safe for me before I brought my daughter this summer, where we plan to spend the summer off from her schooling here with my family,” O’Donnell shared. The media personality confessed that coming back to the country she has lived in for the longest time was very scary for her, as she feels something really wrong is happening, but no one is doing anything about it.
O’Donnell affirmed that she does not regret leaving and simply did what was needed to protect her family, herself, her child, and her mental health in the era of Trump’s presidency. The comedian praised life in Ireland as very balanced and free from the toxic media situation and fame in Hollywood.
The 64-Year-Old Gave A Review Of Ireland

O’Donnell’s relocation to Ireland absolutely paid off as she and her child, Clay, could not be any happier to be in such a healthy environment. The comedian added that it became a matter of urgency because of the need to create a safe space for her non-binary child.
The Blast stated that the TV host noted that when the topic of Ireland came into the picture, they picked it without thinking twice and did not really know where to go. O’Donnell emphasized that their first experience with moving in was also not great because their home had mold.
They had to pick a different location, which became a great option with the right school for Clay and a welcoming community filled with great people. In her words: “It’s in the heart of Dublin, but it’s still a village where you know the name of the grocer and you know the name of the cashiers. People are unbearably kind in a way that shocks me every single day.”
Rosie O’Donnell Tied This Particular Loose End Before Leaving America

A few days before the comedian left America, she made a very important decision to cut off her daughter, Chelsea, from two separate trusts. The document also made it clear that none of Chelsea’s kids will also have any claim to the inheritance.
O’Donnell also made sure that her estranged daughter got a copy of the documents so she would be aware that she had been removed from her $80 million estate. Sources close to Chelsea’s camp affirmed that she could not be bothered about O’Donnell’s decision, and she even went to court to change her last name back to that of her birth mother, Deanna Micoley’s maiden name.
The insider continued that Chelsea does not care about the money; instead, she had always wanted to feel loved and wanted, which she did not get from the comedian. Chelsea has been battling with substance abuse for a few years now and is reportedly living in a facility in Marinette, Wisconsin.
