Shia LaBeouf is back in the headlines following a chaotic Mardi Gras incident that ended with his arrest, and now his mugshot is making the rounds. Authorities in New Orleans released the booking photo Friday, showing the actor looking noticeably worn down after what police describe as an aggressive confrontation at a local bar earlier in the week. The incident has sparked renewed scrutiny of Shia LaBeouf’s behavior, particularly given his past struggles with legal trouble and sobriety.
Mugshot Released After Mardi Gras Arrest

The former Disney Channel star was taken into custody early Tuesday morning in New Orleans after an altercation that reportedly escalated into physical violence during Mardi Gras celebrations.
Officials booked LaBeouf into Orleans Parish Prison following the incident. The mugshot released days later shows the actor appearing tired and somber after the arrest.
He is currently facing two counts of simple battery connected to the confrontation.

According to authorities, officers were called to a Royal Street business after LaBeouf was allegedly causing a disturbance that intensified over time. The New Orleans Police Department stated LaBeouf was “reportedly causing a disturbance and becoming increasingly aggressive at a Royal Street business.”
“A staff member attempted to eject Mr. LaBeouf from the establishment,” police stated. “Once removed from the building, the victim reported being struck by LaBeouf, who used his closed fists on the victim several times.”
Police allege the situation didn’t end there, claiming the actor returned and continued acting aggressively, prompting bystanders to intervene.

Footage from the scene reportedly captured LaBeouf head-butting one of the men involved. According to the report, the individual had told LaBeouf he did not want to fight before the situation escalated.
Authorities say the same victim, along with a second person, was struck in the nose during the altercation. Witnesses eventually restrained the actor until law enforcement arrived.
Following the incident, LaBeouf was transported to a hospital to receive treatment for unspecified injuries before being taken into custody.
Actor Continued Celebrating After Release
Despite the arrest, LaBeouf reportedly resumed partying just hours later, even appearing to joke about the situation. At one point, he was seen dancing while holding his paperwork in his mouth, seemingly making light of the legal trouble.
He also took to social media with a brief message after his arrest, tweeting, “Free me.”
The incident marks another public controversy for the "Transformers" star, who has previously spoken openly about his sobriety journey and personal challenges.
Shia LaBeouf’s Past Legal Troubles Resurface
LaBeouf’s latest arrest isn’t the first time the actor has found himself in legal trouble. Over the years, he has faced multiple run-ins with law enforcement, including a widely publicized incident in 2014.
That June, LaBeouf was arrested at Studio 54 in New York City after disrupting a performance of the Broadway production "Cabaret" and allegedly getting into an altercation with a homeless person. He later pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.
Following the incident, LaBeouf publicly addressed the situation during an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," where he reflected on his mindset at the time and acknowledged personal struggles. He described the period as an “existential crisis” that resulted in “some hiccups, some judgement errors.”
Plus, in the 2015 book "Prison Ramen," the actor penned an essay titled “Error Breeds Sense," where he recounted another run-in with law enforcement that occurred after he refused to leave a Walgreens in Chicago, an incident that led to him spending the night behind bars. Surprisingly, he described the experience as resulting in “the best sleep ever,” noting it happened “for some reason.”
