Reality TV personality Taylor Frankie Paul has taken another legal step in her ongoing dispute with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.
New court filings reveal escalating accusations on both sides, adding fresh tension to an already complicated situation involving custody, past incidents, and active investigations that continue to unfold.
Taylor Frankie Paul Files For Protective Order

Taylor Frankie Paul formally requested a protective order against Dakota Mortensen on April 7, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
In her filing, she alleged that their relationship was marked by a “pattern of abusive conduct and coercive control.”
The request comes shortly after Mortensen filed his own protective order against Paul on March 19. He was granted temporary custody of their two-year-old son, Ever, pending a scheduled hearing.
Paul claims Mortensen’s legal action was not purely defensive. Instead, she described his filing as an “effort to sabotage my career,” suggesting deeper motivations behind the move.
Her filing includes supporting materials such as screenshots of text messages and images of bruises, which she attributed to alleged confrontations with Mortensen.
She is also seeking to have their son included in the protective order, signaling concerns that extend beyond her personal safety.
Taylor Frankie Paul Details Alleged February Incident

Among the incidents outlined, Paul described a particularly alarming encounter that allegedly took place on Feb. 23.
In her account, she claims Mortensen “assaulted” her by “slamming her head against the dashboard of his truck and striking her knee and elbow.”
According to the filing, she said she was driven away from her home against her will while her three children remained inside, asleep.
The severity of the allegations adds another layer to the legal battle, especially as both parties continue to make conflicting claims.
Mortensen has not publicly responded to these specific accusations.
History Of Allegations Between Paul And Mortensen

This is not the first time the pair’s relationship has drawn legal scrutiny. In 2023, Taylor Frankie Paul was arrested following an alleged domestic violence incident involving Dakota Mortensen.
According to an indictment, Paul was accused of throwing “heavy, metal chairs” during an argument.
The situation reportedly escalated to the point where her then-5-year-old daughter, Indy, was allegedly struck.
A resurfaced video from that time appears to show Mortensen recording the altercation as Paul throws objects and strikes him.
However, Paul’s representative later challenged the narrative around the footage, stating it “conveniently omits context” and calling its release a “reprehensible attempt [by Mortensen] to distract from his own behavior.”
Mortensen responded by denying the claims, saying, “I am, unfortunately, used to these baseless claims about me and our relationship, which I categorically deny.”
Paul ultimately faced misdemeanor charges, including assault and criminal mischief.
She entered a plea in abeyance for aggravated assault, meaning the charge could be reduced or dismissed if she meets certain conditions. Other charges were dropped.
Taylor Frankie Paul And Dakota Mortensen Face Ongoing Investigations

Beyond the courtroom filings, both individuals are currently involved in separate domestic violence investigations initiated earlier this year.
The Draper City Police Department began its inquiry on Feb. 23 after a report was made claiming Mortensen had “been the victim of a domestic violence assault by an ex-girlfriend at her Draper residence.”
In follow-up statements, Mortensen told authorities there were “two incidents of physical assault involving ‘grabbing, scratching, shoving, and striking,’” and officers documented visible “neck scratches.”
Authorities have emphasized that the situation is complex. A spokesperson noted that “allegations have been made in both directions,” highlighting the conflicting narratives.
Meanwhile, the West Jordan Police Department confirmed a separate “active domestic violence case” involving the former couple.
Officials stated that Mortensen had provided video evidence believed to be from “early to mid-2024,” though further details have not been disclosed.
Legal Battle Impacts Paul’s Career

The fallout from these allegations has extended beyond legal proceedings into professional consequences for Taylor Frankie Paul.
One of the most significant developments came when her already-filmed season of “The Bachelorette” was abruptly canceled.
The decision was made just hours after a video of the couple’s 2023 altercation surfaced publicly, only days before the show’s planned premiere.
The timing raised questions about how personal controversies can influence reality TV careers, particularly when public perception shifts rapidly.
As the legal dispute continues, both Paul and Mortensen remain under scrutiny.
With protective orders, custody arrangements, and investigations still in motion, the situation shows no signs of slowing down.
