The duo recently marked a major milestone by celebrating the first anniversary of their wedding vow renewal. However, Brooklyn’s heartfelt message seemed to shade his parents, with whom he has been at odds.

Brooklyn’s post came months after he seemingly ignored a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute shared by his father, David Beckham.

Commemorating the milestone, Brooklyn shared a heartfelt caption alongside images of himself and his wife. The caption read, “Happy anniversary Nicola,” before adding, “I can’t tell you how much I love you x you are my best friend, and I love you more than life itself xx.”

Brooklyn also added, “I am so lucky to be able to call you my wife xx. You are my absolute princess, and I promise to always protect you xx.”

As sweet as the heartfelt vow was, his promise to protect Peltz seemed to be a subtle attempt to shield her from the recent drama surrounding the Brooklyn family. His heartfelt gestures highlighted their united front amid ongoing distance between the couple and his famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham.

As reported by The Blast, in the advert, Brooklyn smiled at the camera while sitting at home with a match playing in the background.

 “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home… It’s a long story,” he said. 

The promotional clip concluded with the message “more soon,” prompting speculation that additional advertisements referencing his personal life could follow.

This drew severe online backlash and reportedly caused deep distress to his parents, as critics accused him of capitalizing on their high-profile estrangement.

In addition to negative reactions from social media users, industry specialists warn that the controversial advertisement could severely damage Brooklyn’s commercial appeal.

According to The Blast, Andy Barr, Head of Brand Communications at Season One Comms, said, “This could well be the beginning of the end for Brand Brooklyn.”

He noted that potential corporate partners will likely hesitate before collaborating with Brooklyn in the future.

Echoing these concerns, Sean O’Meara, managing director of Essential Content, labeled the marketing campaign a PR “disasterclass”. He strongly criticized the decision to profit from personal friction, calling it “cheap,” and said that such public digs make him appear “petty” and proud.

Following the backlash surrounding his commercial project, the personal distance between Brooklyn and his family seemed to widen even further during Father’s Day. 

David published a throwback picture from Brooklyn’s childhood alongside a group photo of all four of his children.

In the caption, David wrote that being a father is his “most important job,” and publicly expressed his love to them all, as reported by The Blast.

Many followers interpreted the warm gesture as a clear effort to bridge the gap between himself and Brooklyn. However, despite his father’s public outreach, Brooklyn offered no visible reply.
