The news of Channing Tatum‘s ex-fiancée’s engagement appears to be a hard pill to swallow.

The actor seems to be in his feelings, trying to take it all in as the reality of his ex, Zoë Kravitz’s love life, makes headlines. The former couple dated for about three years before their split in October 2024, calling off their engagement.

Channing Tatum is no stranger to failed relationships. He was previously married to Jenna Dewan from 2009, whom he met three years earlier on the set of “Step Up.” They announced their split in 2018 and finalized the legal process in 2024.

Tatum shared a cryptic poem on his Instagram stories about divorce and anxiety amid news of his ex-fiancée’s engagement to her current partner, Harry Styles. The post shared on Monday was a snap of a poem called “My Brain And Heart Divorced” by John Roedel.

The words of the poem detail the emotional and physical burden of anxiety when the mind and heart become divorced from other organs. “My brain and heart divorced a decade ago over who was to blame about how big of a mess I have become,” the poem began.

The next stanza read “Eventually, they couldn’t be in the same room with each other. Now my head and heart share custody of me. I stay with my brain during the week, and my heart gets me on weekends. They never speak to one another.”

The words and the timeline of Tatum’s post have raised eyebrows with speculations that he may be subtly referring to his relationship with Kravitz. The actor marked his 46th birthday a day before posting the cryptic poem.

Details Of Zoë Kravitz’s Proposal Recently Came To Light

Styles reportedly got down on one knee, fitting Kravitz’s left ring finger with a 10-carat oval-shaped yellow diamond ring estimated to cost about a million dollars.  The actress reportedly told her friends that she accepted the “old-fashioned romantic” proposal because she is “madly in love with him”. The Daily Mail also reported that no one in their circle is surprised because Styles is “completely smitten [and] he would jump off a cliff for her.”

The chart-topping singer recently said that he took time to reflect on his life and his future after watching three of his closest friends get married. Looking at a five-year plan for his life, Styles shared that he hopes to get married, start a family, and build great friendships with people.

The singer also spoke about the importance of building a future with the right person who challenges him to do better. “They hold you accountable to the person that they know you want to be. I think accepting flaws and stuff is like, yes, having understanding is wonderful, but you know that I want to be better than that,” Styles said in a previous interview.

Tatum And Kravitz Previously Saw A Future Together

The former lovebirds sparked dating rumors early in 2021 while they worked together on “Blink Twice,” which was then “Pussy Island,” but at the time, it was confirmed that they were not dating. Months later, on August 19, they were spotted riding through the streets of New York City on a BMX bike with Kravitz’s arms wrapped around his shoulders.

Over time, they were seen going out together, enjoying each other’s company in N.Y.C. They even attended the Met Gala in 2021 and left together. Reports later followed that the actress was already bonding with her then-beau’s daughter, Everly, whom he welcomed with his ex-wife.

The pair did not confirm their relationship but spoke highly of each other in interviews, and PEOPLE reports that they celebrated one year together in August 2022 with a trip to Italy, where they were photographed kissing on a yacht. By October 2023, sources revealed that the pair were engaged as Kravitz was spotted leaving a Halloween party with a massive diamond ring. 

They continued working together on the “Blink Twice” project, and while attending the premiere, Tatum told outlets that working together and supporting each other was a beautiful experience. The “Step Up” stars decided that it was time to go their separate ways after almost ten years of marriage. Tatum noted that before they made the decision to break up in 2018, they had struggled to make it work for over a year to no avail. The split then turned into a six-year-long divorce battle with arguments over custody of their young daughter, money, and the division of their assets.

They eventually came to an agreement in 2024, marking an end to their legal battle. Tatum admitted later that the end of their relationship was a very rough path. “Jenna and I are good now, but it was a painful break to have that fall apart, especially being so young,” the actor previously said.
