A bitter courtroom battle between Ioan Gruffudd and his ex-wife, Alice Evans, has taken another dramatic turn.

During a tense hearing in Los Angeles, the actor’s legal team accused Evans of destroying both his finances and public image through years of online attacks.

The claims painted a troubling picture of emotional strain, career fallout, and mounting personal damage behind the scenes.

Ioan Gruffudd’s attorney, Joseph Langlois, delivered explosive accusations in court while arguing that the actor’s spousal support payments to Alice Evans should come to an end.

According to Langlois, Evans launched a “five-year campaign of false narratives” designed to destroy Gruffudd’s reputation and acting career following their split in 2021.

The lawyer claimed the damage had already been done.

“And she succeeded,” Langlois told the court per the Daily Mail, arguing that Gruffudd and his current wife, Bianca Wallace, had been “emotionally and economically devastated by Alice’s callous and repeated violations” of a restraining order.

The restraining order was previously imposed to stop Evans from posting allegedly false and negative statements about the actor and Wallace online.

Langlois argued that the effects extended far beyond personal conflict, insisting the controversy severely impacted Gruffudd’s professional standing in Hollywood.

Ioan Gruffudd Says Income Dropped After Public Fallout

The court heard detailed claims about the dramatic financial decline Gruffudd allegedly experienced after the public fallout surrounding the divorce.

Langlois explained that before the separation, Gruffudd was reportedly earning an average of $585,000 annually “as an A-list actor in high demand.”

According to the attorney, things changed significantly in the years following the breakup.

“But in the four years since their breakup ‘his income dropped to an average of $125,000 a year….He is struggling every single month. He had to borrow money to pay for daily necessities,’” Langlois told the court.

The attorney connected the decline directly to Evans’ online activity, accusing her of posting roughly “20,000 social media posts” targeting Gruffudd and Wallace over several years.

Langlois described many of those posts as “horrendously negative,” alleging that some falsely labeled the actor a “deadbeat dad, a child abuser, a pedophile.”

He further argued that the posts “were calculated to damage, if not destroy, his public image and his career as an actor.”

Beyond financial concerns, the courtroom also focused heavily on the emotional consequences Ioan Gruffudd allegedly faced throughout the ordeal.

Langlois argued that continuing to force his client to pay spousal support would effectively amount to “a victim financing his own abuse.”

He also spoke about the lasting emotional toll on the actor, saying Gruffudd spent decades building a respected career beginning from childhood.

“Once that reputation is ruined, it’s practically impossible to recover,” the attorney said before adding, “Justice demands the termination of spousal support.”

The lawyer accused Evans of spending hours daily online while portraying herself as the victim.

“She was feeding the monster of abuse that she created,” Langlois claimed in court.

He also alleged the situation escalated beyond social media arguments, stating, “There were threats of violence against Ioan and Bianca from the followers who drank Alice’s concoction of abuse.”

Langlois admitted Evans had shown limited emotion over the situation, but insisted accountability remained absent.

According to him, while she had “shed a few tears” over the situation, “There has been no real remorse.”

Alice Evans Pushes For Increased Financial Support

While Ioan Gruffudd’s legal team pushed for the end of support payments, Alice Evans sought the opposite outcome in court.

Evans is reportedly asking the judge to increase the $1,500 monthly spousal support payments she currently receives from Gruffudd.

At the same time, the actor already pays $3,570 monthly in child support for the former couple’s daughters, Ella and Elsie.

Langlois argued that Gruffudd had already provided Evans with financial support far beyond what was required.

Referencing the former couple’s premarital agreement, he claimed Gruffudd had “overpaid” Evans by approximately $359,000 since their separation.

“Alice lived rent-free in their former home and he paid all her expenses for two years,” Langlois told the court.

The attorney also accused Evans of making little effort to support herself financially, despite her acting background and language skills.

He argued she was not pursuing work opportunities “even though she’s multi-talented and fluent in three or four languages.”

Langlois further accused Evans of filing inaccurate and “materially lacking” financial statements during the proceedings.

Ioan Gruffudd Moves Forward With Bianca Wallace

Despite the ongoing legal chaos, Ioan Gruffudd has continued building a new chapter in his personal life with Bianca Wallace.

The actor married the Australian actress after the pair met while filming the television series “Harrow” in Australia during the final years of his marriage to Evans.

Their relationship drew intense public attention throughout the divorce battle and frequently became a focus of Evans’ online criticism, according to court filings.

Now, Gruffudd and Wallace are raising their baby daughter together after welcoming her in November last year.
