EA Sports announced Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams as this year’s cover athlete a few months ago, and now, the time to play is finally here! Madden 27 has launched worldwide on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, mobile, and, for the first time ever, Apple Arcade. This year, Madden is all about the gamer, meaning every decision “has more weight, every season feels more alive, and every moment on the field is more earned than ever before.” And to make things even sweeter, the Madden NFL 27 soundtrack is the game’s most extensive lineup yet, featuring everything from hip-hop to country.

Diehard football fans know every NFL season brings unpredictable changes, with new heroes, new villains, surprising storylines, and headline-making moments. Madden 27 was built to capture that same unpredictability, giving gamers more control over how their own stories play out.

In this year’s game, Madden is introducing gamers to the all-new Persona Engine—the game’s biggest change in recent years. Every NFL player has a unique personality that’ll shape negotiations and reactions, transforming a player’s franchise into a dramatic league that feels exactly like the real thing.

“Madden NFL 27 is built to reflect today’s NFL, where every front office decision echoes and reshapes the division,” said Evan Dexter, VP of Franchise Strategy and Marketing.

“The NFL is unpredictable — the draft, the trades, the personalities, the rivalries — they shape the future of every franchise. With Madden NFL 27, we wanted to put that drama and unpredictability into the hands of our players through the deepest franchise experience we’ve ever built, powered by the all-new Persona Engine,” he added. “For the first time, as you play Madden, Madden plays back. Every league is unique, responsive and dynamic. Every league is yours, and we can’t wait for players to get in and start playing.”

The Madden 27 Soundtrack Features Everything And Then Some!

The Madden 27 soundtrack is its most expansive yet, featuring Alex Warren, Diplo, Don Toliver, French Montana, and many more.

The 80-track playlist includes hip-hop icons, rock stars, country legends, metal acts, and electronic artists.

The soundtrack, available on Spotify and Apple Music, was curated to reflect the diverse roster of athletes competing today.

Experience Madden 27’s Most Significant Innovations

Madden 27 has some of the game’s most significant changes the series has ever seen. In addition to the Persona Engine, gamers will now experience dynamic weather and evolving field conditions that influence strategy, stamina, ball security, and team performance throughout every game. Chicago Bears star Caleb Williams is this year’s EA Sports cover athlete, according to a previous report from The Blast. The standard edition features the USC alum throwing a pass with the Chicago skyline beneath him, while the deluxe edition shows the quarterback surrounded by falling snow. In both covers, Williams sports his signature painted nails, a detail he said EA Sports made sure to include as a reflection of his personal style.

“That’s what’s cool about Madden and EA and the cast that we had there. They wanted me to be myself… they wanted that energy,” he said when the cover was announced. “We want you to be you, we want you to do as you do. We want you to wear what you wear on game day, we want you to dress how you dress, we want you to do this because we want it to be the most real version.”

While Williams has faced criticism for his manicures, the 24-year-old said he can take the heat. Speaking with PEOPLE about his headline-making sets, Williams said that he tries to paint his nails when he’s celebrating “big moments.”

“I try and save them for big moments because if I do them all year round, I run out of ideas. I typically save them for the season or big moments, and that was one of those big moments,” he said.
