Nicole Kidman is looking at an uncertain future with a mindset that is less about having all the answers and more about allowing herself to move forward.
As she reflects on the changes in her personal life following her split from Keith Urban, the Oscar winner is opening up about vulnerability, resilience and the decision to remain receptive to whatever comes next.
Rather than trying to control the future, Kidman says she is learning to embrace it.
Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Facing An Uncertain Future
Nicole Kidman’s latest comments offer a glimpse into how she is processing a life that has not unfolded according to the plans she once imagined.
In a British Vogue interview published on Thursday, the actress acknowledged that she “didn’t expect” her life to take the turn it has, but she is accepting where she finds herself now.
“You make all these plans and you have all these ideas of what it’s all going to be like and then it’s … not. You have to adjust. You adapt,” Kidman explained.
The 59-year-old described the future as “completely unknown to me right now,” admitting that the uncertainty feels “strange.”
She also revealed that the transition brought her to a particularly exposed emotional place, saying, “There was a point where I was very fearful and deeply vulnerable, which is exposing.”
Kidman Is Choosing Love Instead Of Living By A Script

Rather than defining this period solely through what has changed, Nicole Kidman appears focused on how she wants to approach whatever comes next.
Speaking about what it means to live a “well-examined life,” she described a philosophy built around experience, mistakes and emotional openness.
“I’ve always wanted to live a well-examined life,” the “Baby Girl” actress noted. For her, that means continuing to experiment, accepting failure and refusing to close herself off after difficult experiences.
“Trying things, making mistakes, failing, getting back up, moving on, embracing love, staying open, keeping the heart open and the possibilities,” she explained.
Kidman also credited “time” and “incredible mentors” with helping her develop that perspective.
Their advice, she recalled, sometimes came down to accepting difficult realities rather than fighting against the unfairness of them. “Nicole, you just got to take it on the chin,” she said they would tell her.
Nicole Kidman Learns To Trust Her Heart Through Life’s Difficult Moments

The lessons Kidman has taken from those around her appear to have changed how she handles disappointment.
Rather than dwelling on whether something is fair, she says she has learned to accept that life can simply be unfair and continue moving. “I know my character,” Kidman shared, adding, “I know my talent. I know who I am.”
That sense of self has become important as she allows herself to make mistakes without viewing them as defining failures.
She acknowledged that things could go wrong professionally or personally and that humiliation could happen, but she no longer believed those moments needed to carry the weight they once did.
“If I make a mistake and it doesn’t connect, or something goes wrong in my life where it’s humiliating, it’s OK,” she told the outlet, further noting, “Other people have had that and that’s OK. Take the onus off it.”
Urban Is Reportedly Relieved By Kidman’s New Romance

As Nicole Kidman appears to be embracing a new chapter following the divorce, Keith Urban is reportedly experiencing a complicated mix of emotions.
The former couple finalized the end of their 19-year marriage in January, and Kidman has since been linked to businessman Michael Reinstein after the pair were photographed together on a trip.
As The Blast reported, a source revealed that Urban felt “relief” seeing Kidman move forward, particularly because he had reportedly felt guilty about being the one who wanted to end their marriage.
The insider claimed Urban had been unhappy with aspects of their highly public life and wanted a quieter existence centered on music.
“Keith’s been unhappy for a long time,” the source alleged, adding that he “just wants to make music and play music.”
Nicole Kidman Spotted In Michael Reinstein’s $340K Ferrari

Prior to the revelation, Kidman made headlines as she was photographed while spending time with Reinstein.
The pictures showed the Hollywood star riding shotgun in Reinstein’s Ferrari 296 GTB in Los Angeles on July 30, with the luxury car reportedly worth around $340,000.
According to The Blast, Reinstein had personally picked Kidman up from the airport after she returned from New York, where she had attended the premiere of “Lioness” season two.
Kidman appeared relaxed and flashed a huge smile from the passenger seat, dressed in a blazer, blouse and dark sunglasses, while Reinstein wore a suit and appeared to have a ring on his wedding finger.
The outing came shortly after the pair were photographed together in Portofino, Italy, where they were seen spending time by the pool at the Belmond Splendido and reportedly sharing affectionate moments.
