Amy Schumer Opens Up On ‘Botched Colonoscopy’ That Left Her Feeling ‘Not Very Sexual’

Schumer has never been one to shy away from talking about the complicated realities of womanhood, wellness, and aging.
In a recent appearance on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast,” the 44-year-old comedian opened up about a recent “botched Colonoscopy” she had that has temporarily thrown a wrench into her sexual life.
“I actually had, kind of, a botched colonoscopy, so I’m not feeling very sexual,” she said, per the Daily Mail.
A colonoscopy is a medical procedure where a doctor inserts a long, flexible tube with a tiny camera (a colonoscope) into the rectum to view the entire lining of the large intestine (colon).
It is used to diagnose gastrointestinal issues, investigate symptoms, and prevent or treat colon cancer.
However, despite the sad turn of things, Schumer shared that she remains the jolly good fellow that she is.
“I feel happier than I’ve ever been before,” she admitted.
The Actress Has Been Open About Her Health Journey

Over the years, Schumer has remained vocal about her health scares and constantly updates fans about her wellness journey.
Last year, she opened up about her Cushing syndrome diagnosis, saying she wouldn’t have known she had the condition if it weren’t for internet trolls who came for her.
Speaking on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast at the time, she explained that internet trolls made comments about her suddenly swollen face, but she ignored it, thinking it was nothing.
However, the actress began to take the remarks seriously when actual doctors started to comment about a possible diagnosis based on her physical appearance.

According to Schumer, doctors chimed in in her comment section, telling her, “No, no … something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy.”
She noted that they alerted her to the possibility of her having Cushing syndrome, which occurs when the stress hormone, cortisol, remains in the body for too long and can be caused by taking steroids for too long.
“At first, I was like, ‘F-ck off,'” she said, before realizing that she was actually having steroids from her breast reduction and Cesarean section for the birth of her son, with ex Chris Fischer.
“So I got these was getting these steroid injections and so it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome — which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard,” Schumer added, per People Magazine.
She has also spoken about her dramatic weight loss, which she credits to Mounjaro, after previously being “unable” to handle ozempic side effects.
The Comedian Separated From Her Husband Of Over Seven Years

Late last year, the “Kinda Pregnant” actress revealed that she and her then-husband, chef Chris Fischer, were going their separate ways after more than 7 years together.
At the time, she shared a photo of both of them on the subway, and explained that they’d made the “difficult decision” to pull the plug on their marriage.
“Blah blah blah, Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years,” she wrote, per the Daily Mail. “We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time.”
The actress then joked that the split is not “because I dropped some lbs” and not because Fischer is an “award-winning chef who can still pull some hot tail.”
Amy Schumer Flaunts’ Dream Home’ Following Split From Fischer

Earlier this month, the “Snatched” actress gave fans a peek into her newly designed New York City home, thanking interior design firm Ashe Leandro for helping her bring “my dream home” to life.
The post contains photos of her spacious living room with a stunning view of Central Park and the surrounding city skyline. It also included a dining area with a very lush ambiance and a large, round wooden table that can seat 6 people.
“I’m grateful every single day,” she captioned the post, per People. “Beautiful and filled with love. I know, I know, but it’s true. I never dreamed I would get to live somewhere like my home.”
The photos of her new home come after she sold the Brooklyn townhouse she once shared with Fischer just before they announced their split.
According to reports, they sold the property for $11 million in November 2025, $3 million less than what they listed it for in March that year, and $1.25 million less than what they bought it for in 2022.
