“This is so hard for me to put into words,” Richards began. “I am deeply heartbroken & devastated losing you. You were my best friend & my family.”
Richards reflected on their decades-long bond, sharing memories of how they first met and the life they built as friends. “We met in our first acting class, I was 19 never had an acting job and you were 21 a student at USC doing a recurring role on who’s the boss,” she wrote. “And here we are. 36 years later. My whole adult life & I don’t know it without you.”
She continued, “The friendship, love, support, respect & loyalty we had was unconditional and rare. You lit up every room you walked into.”

The actress added that Muldoon was “larger than life” and “everyone was drawn to him.” “So talented & most underrated actor,” she wrote. “And most humble.”

We thought we’d live forever or at least into our 90’s,” she wrote. “Schweetbabe I will be looking for those signs. I need to know you’re still here with me. Muldoon’s sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, shared that the actor had been at home in Beverly Hills with his girlfriend earlier that morning. After grabbing coffee together, he reportedly went to take a shower, but when too much time passed, concern quickly grew.
His girlfriend ultimately found him unconscious on the bathroom floor. Paramedics rushed to the scene and attempted to revive him, but tragically, “there was nothing anyone could do.”

The devastating loss comes just days after Muldoon shared exciting career news with fans. He had recently revealed he landed a producing role on an upcoming film titled “Kockroach,” which is set to star Chris Hemsworth, Channing Tatum, Taron Egerton, Zazie Beetz, and Alec Baldwin.
“So excited to be a part of this amazing project ‘KOCKROACH’ directed by Matt Ross starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton, Zazie Beetz And Alec Baldwin,” he wrote on Instagram just two days before his death. “Filming now in Australia.”
