Jenelle Evans is doubling down on her innocence, but fans are calling BS on her victim narrative.

The “16 & Pregnant” alum recently addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding her oldest son’s arrest. Jace was checked into a rehabilitation facility over a gun-wielding incident in February 2026.

Evans broke her silence on Jace’s troubled life on TikTok, dropping a lengthy video that repeatedly emphasized her innocence in his case. She began by stressing that she wasn’t meant to address the subject; however, she believed she had to speak out.

“I feel like at this moment, it is imperative for my family to have their privacy,” Evans explained, claiming it was challenging for her family to have their privacy thanks to her extended family members. She accused this group on the other side of the country of “selling stories to the media.”

Although Evans did not mention any names, her words appeared directed at her mother and sister, people she previously bashed in another post. Evans continued that she was speaking out because “The narrative is being spun as me being the villain, of course, because I’m just such an easy target.”

Evans argued that while she was being portrayed as the villain, she had been working behind the scenes to help her son. She stressed that she wasn’t idle in Jace’s case, noting people could not know her location unless she chose to share it.

“One thing I will do is put my whole life on pause for my kids, especially if something’s going on,” Evans continued. She explained that she paused her podcast for a good reason, and whatever she did as a mom would always be for a good reason.

Nonetheless, Evans stood by the need to protect her family’s privacy. She stressed that she could not go into detail about what was happening and asked fans alongside her extended family members for space to breathe. “Just know eventually that I am not the villain in this, and you guys eventually will see that,” Evans signed off.

Fans Are Not Buying What The Media Personality is Selling

The post’s comments did not pass the vibe check Evans might have wanted, as critics refused to be silenced. “Janelle, please, we’re tired. You’re a professional victim, we get it,” someone claimed. Another agreed, stating that at some point, Evans would need to look within for someone to blame.

A third wrote that fans had collectively determined the post was a lie, while a fourth mocked Evans for asking for privacy on TikTok. The sentiments continued, with a TikToker calling BS on Evans’ story, noting they would wait for her son to reveal the truth.

“The fact that she actually believes what she’s saying … Wow!” an unimpressed fan added. A fellow critic argued that Evans had failed to be a mother to Jace for the past 16 years, recalling that she supported her ex-husband after her son accused him of abuse.

Fans’ refusal to believe Jenelle’s innocent narrative might stem from her past behavior. The Blast reported that after Jace’s gun-wielding incident made waves, Jenelle immediately distanced herself from the backlash and blamed her extended family.

She dropped a series of tweets, with one reading, “Whoever thought the enemy is my own mother.” Jenelle implied that her mother, Barbara Evans, and sister, Ashleigh Evans, were not to be trusted. She particularly shut down any information from Ashleigh.

According to Jenelle, Ashleigh did not have custody of her own son, and whatever she said should be taken with a grain of salt. Additionally, Jenelle described Ashleigh as her “polar schizophrenic sister,” labeling her and Barbara “evil.”

The drama between Jenelle and her extended family continued, with The Blast reporting that her mom had called her out. Barbara accused Jenelle of cutting her out of Jace’s life, claiming she was restricted from contacting her grandson.

Barbara explained that she could neither call nor visit Jace at his rehabilitation facility because of Jenelle. However, she did not let the restrictions stop her, as Barbara noted that she would speak to the facility’s staff and implore them to pass her messages to Jace.

Jace was admitted to a rehabilitation center after Barbara called the cops on him in February. She claimed that Jace had threatened to end his life alongside hers with a gun. There were also concerns of substance abuse, as the teen had allegedly been drinking and using drugs before the incident.
