Instead, she focused on his demeanor during the event. “He looked very happy at that award show. And I was happy for him,” she said, adding, “That’s the first thing I noticed. I said, ‘Oh wow, Jim looks really happy.’”

Her husband, Donnie Wahlberg, also weighed in, calling out the misplaced attention surrounding the moment. 

“We’re so obsessed with how he looks that we didn’t consider how happy he looked,” he said.

The viral chatter followed Carrey’s appearance at the César Awards, which drew intense online reactions, with some viewers questioning whether it was truly him on stage.

His team later confirmed the appearance, stating per PEOPLE, “Jim Carrey attended the César Awards, where he accepted his Honorary César Award.” 

During the event, the icon delivered his acceptance speech entirely in French, a detail that reflected months of behind-the-scenes preparation.

According to Gregory Caulier, the general delegate of the awards, Carrey took the process seriously. 

“Eight months of ongoing, constructive discussions. He worked on his speech in French for months, asking me about the exact pronunciation of certain words,” Caulier explained to Variety.

As speculation about his appearance grew, Caulier dismissed the focus on looks, saying, “For me, it’s a non-issue. Just remember his generosity, his kindness, his benevolence, his elegance.”

After studying recent photos and videos, Spiegel claimed, per The Blast, “He has 100 percent had botulinum,” pointing to Botox as a major factor. 

However, he suggested the execution may have missed the mark, explaining the results looked “more suitable for a woman’s face,” which led to “oddly arched eyebrows.” 

He also highlighted an unnatural pull in his cheek, suggesting it could stem from “threading” or even “a poorly done facelift.” 

Spiegel didn’t stop there, adding that Carrey may have undergone laser treatments to lighten his complexion. 

Still, he warned that such procedures require skill and restraint, stressing, “All of these tools are only effective in the hands of an expert.”
