In newly surfaced jail calls with husband Joseph Duggar, the mother of four revealed she is no longer with her children, a situation she described as one of the hardest parts of the ongoing case.

Kendra Duggar didn’t hold back while speaking to Joseph Duggar during a call from the Washington County Detention Facility. 

Reflecting on the difficult days surrounding their arrests, she admitted just how overwhelming everything has been.

“I think Friday has probably been my hardest day, but that’s crazy to say because Wednesday was crazy hard,” she said in an audio obtained by PEOPLE, referencing the days they were each taken into custody. 

However, what stood out most was her reaction to being separated from her children. “But it’s just like, when you then take my babies from me, they were who I was just going to pour my life into,” Kendra revealed.

Joseph tried to comfort her during the call, reminding her that their children are still her “purpose right now.” 

Still, her words made it clear that losing daily contact with them had been one of the most painful parts of the situation.

Joseph’s Wife Shares Updates On Kids During Calls

In another phone conversation, Joseph Duggar asked about their children as both parents dealt with the fallout of their arrests. 

Kendra’s response showed just how much things have changed. “From what I hear they are doing good,” she told him, suggesting she is no longer directly caring for them. 

However, just days earlier, on March 20, she had been with the children after her release from jail and could even be heard speaking to them while still on the phone with Joseph.

While the children’s current living situation hasn’t been publicly detailed, officials have declined to comment on the status of any custody arrangements, leaving many questions unanswered.

Even as the case continues to unfold, Kendra made it clear that her focus hasn’t shifted. 

In another call, she emphasized her determination to fight for her children, telling Joseph, “I’m fighting for the kids and they’re my number one priority right now.”

The 31-year-old expressed his full support, responding that he is “100% behind” her and encouraging her to keep putting their children first. 

Kendra reinforced that stance, adding, “I just want you to know, through all of this, whatever happens, that’s who’s coming first.”

She also acknowledged the uncertainty ahead, explaining that the rest of their situation will have to be handled step by step. 

Before ending one of the calls, Kendra shared a message from their children, telling Joseph they still love him.

Following Joseph’s arrest, his aunt Deanna Duggar spoke out, saying, “I think Kendra should divorce him. She needs a new life. The best thing to do would be to divorce him and go on with her life.”

She stressed that moving on would give Kendra a chance to rebuild and protect herself and her children during an incredibly difficult time. 

Deanna acknowledged the situation was painful but made it clear she believed staying would only prolong the damage. 

She also expressed concern for the entire family, urging them to reflect and make better decisions moving forward. 

While Kendra has not publicly responded, sources say she remains in a complicated position as she deals with the fallout. 

Joseph Duggar And Kendra Face Mounting Legal Troubles Across States

The emotional calls come as both Kendra and Joseph deal with serious legal issues. 

Kendra was arrested on March 20 and charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree, along with four counts of false imprisonment in the second degree. 

She was released on bail shortly after being booked and is now staying at a private location after authorities searched her home on March 19.

That investigation, carried out by local police and the Arkansas Department of Human Services, led to additional misdemeanor charges. Kendra is expected to appear in court on April 29.

Meanwhile, Joseph is facing separate charges in Florida. He was arrested on March 18 and later released on a $600,000 bond after appearing before a judge. 

Authorities accused him of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl multiple times during a 2020 family vacation in Panama City Beach.

He has denied the allegations and entered a written plea of not guilty.
