Rose took to Threads in April 2026 to comment on a post made by Complex Music about Perry and Justin Bieber. She said in her reply, “Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a sh-t what she thinks.”

After that, she discussed the alleged event further, saying, “I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly. Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.”

Later, the actress continued discussing what she says happened with Perry in various comment threads. She said in one, “Before I open up about something incredibly raw and traumatic, I tell myself ‘it’s ok, you don’t need people to believe you, you just need to get it out of your poor body, before it gives you cancer.’ But then I see this post and … tears consume me, in a good way. Thank you.”

Following Perry’s statement, social media users have weighed in with varying opinions. One person said, “Sexual assault or harassment is a criminal offense which needs to be investigated. That’s negative energy right there. That’s what’s happening.”

Another person defended Perry, writing, “Of course it was an obvious stunt to trash Katy.” A different X user said, “This won’t be the first time that Ruby Rose has made such false claims against multiple celebs. Shame on her. This is such a disgrace for actual victims.”

After that, someone else defended, Rose, writing, “Hold up. Trust all women. Why does this not apply here?”

After making her initial claims about Perry, Rose began posting on her main Threads feed instead of only replying to other social media users. The “Orange is the New Black” alum wrote, “I want to thank all the brave women who have come forward with their stories about sexual abuse. Especially the ones who went through the painful process of going through the police and court system.”

Regarding her own experiences, she shared, “For years, I have been too wounded and afraid to take the appropriate steps because I know the system seldom works. Instead, I have lashed out on social media at all hours of the night, awoken by PTSD flashbacks, insisting ‘I’ll take people down,’ but not said who or why.”

From there, she addressed the common narrative that exists about her, writing, “Further fueling rumors of instability and unprofessionalism. I needed to protect myself. As I don’t have a family or large support system. But I know I am not helping myself or other survivors by continuing this survival technique.”

After that, Rose stated that she’d be going to a police station to “see if any of my experiences can be investigated,” saying she has a “long list.”

The Allegations Against Perry Came Following Coachella

Perry attended Coachella in April 2026 and went viral after poking fun at Bieber’s performance, which some have bashed while others applaud the “Yukon” singer. Per Complex Music, Perry reacted to his decision to harmonize with YouTube videos of his older songs, saying, “Thank God he has premium.”

Notably, her comment was in reference to the singer not having to pause for ads during the performance, for which he was allegedly paid $10 million. As mentioned, Rose replied to a report of this with her initial claim against Perry.
