Megan Thee Stallion’s Broadway debut took a sudden and worrying turn this week. The rapper, who recently stepped onto the stage for her first theater role, was forced to leave mid-performance after falling ill. 

What started as a normal night quickly shifted, leaving the audience confused as the show paused unexpectedly. 

Now, Megan Thee Stallion has been taken to a New York City hospital as fans await updates on her condition.

Megan Thee Stallion was performing in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” on Tuesday night when things suddenly changed. 

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the Grammy Award winner’s representative, Didier Morais, revealed, “During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated.”

The show had already begun with Megan appearing in the opening scenes before it was abruptly interrupted. 

Theater officials addressed the audience during the pause, asking them to “stay inside and seated” as the situation unfolded.

Megan then exited the performance shortly after, and another performer stepped in to complete the show. 

Her hairstylist and close friend, Kellon Deryck, also confirmed the incident in a post on X, backing up concerns about her sudden hospitalization.

In his X post, Deryck asked the public to put Megan Thee Stallion in their prayers, writing, “Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital.” 

As requested, many fans sent the musician prayers and supportive wishes.

Some fans were left puzzled by the post, asking what had happened to the rapper. Other users suggested it could be an April Fool’s prank, noting that nothing was wrong with Megan.

Elsewhere, another X user recounted what transpired inside the theater. “Came to see Meg The Stallion on broadway and that was shortlived. The few opening scenes I saw her in she was great on stage! I was excited BUT… They just stopped moulin rouge mid show apologized to the audience and said ..”stay inside and seated” I asked security if we’re safe .. they told us “for now, we’ll update you if anything changes,” they wrote.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Broadway Debut Marked A Major Career Moment

Megan had only just begun her run in the production, making her debut last week at New York’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre. 

She stepped into the role of Zidler, becoming the first woman to take on the part in the long-running musical.

The role has previously been played by notable performers, including Boy George, Wayne Brady, Tituss Burgess, and Bob the Drag Queen, while Danny Burstein originated the character and earned a Tony Award for his performance.

Her appearance in the show also drew major attention, with stars like Queen Latifah and Tiffany Haddish attending performances. 

Megan even brought elements of her music into the production, performing tracks like “Savage” and “Body.”

Speaking about the opportunity to The New York Times, she said, “I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively,” adding, “And theater is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace.”

Megan Says Love Came When She Focused On Herself

Megan Thee Stallion’s health isn’t the only reason she has made the headlines in recent times, as her relationship with Klay Thompson has got people talking. 

As The Blast reported in February, the 31-year-old revealed that her relationship with the NBA star wasn’t planned.

“I didn’t even know I was going to be in my relationship, to be honest,” she admitted. The songwriter explained that love came naturally when she shifted her focus to herself instead of chasing a relationship. 

She stressed she would never tell anyone to rush into love, saying people shouldn’t feel pressured just because others are in relationships.

According to Megan, things changed when she began working on her mental health and self-love. 

She shared, “I had been going to therapy, I had a bunch of activities that I started doing for myself,” adding that it may have created space for the right person to come into her life. 

For her, the relationship felt different because it came at the right time, when she was already healing and emotionally in a better place.

Megan Thee Stallion also revealed she’s enjoying a new level of peace in her relationship, describing it as one of the first times she has felt truly at ease. 

“This is one of the first times that I’ve ever been just overly comfortable,” she said, adding, “I’m comfy, babe!” 

She introduced their relationship publicly at her Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala, where she also described Thompson as the “nicest person I’ve ever met in my life.”

Alongside her love life, the star linked her happiness to her overall wellness journey. She shared that she “just dove in” when it came to fitness, learning more about nutrition and the importance of protein to see results. 

That same mindset of growth and self-care seems to reflect in her relationship, which she portrays as calm, supportive, and free from pressure, something she clearly values.
