Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s tour of the southern hemisphere continues to spark intense online criticism, with her latest move igniting further chaos.

The Duchess of Sussex made an appearance on “MasterChef Australia.” However, the appearance drew backlash from fans, who questioned her true motives.

Despite the backlash, Markle and Prince Harry also paid a memorable visit to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, just as Princess Diana did about 40 years ago.

Markle shocked television viewers and cooking enthusiasts alike by appearing as a guest judge on the upcoming season of “MasterChef Australia.”

During a visit to the country with Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex stepped into the famous kitchen to mentor and guide a group of talented home cooks.

This appearance marks her first time back in Australia since the couple’s royal tour in 2018, and she joined a panel of culinary icons, including Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin, and Jean-Christophe Novelli.

As she made her entrance, the contestants cheered while Yeow introduced her by noting that while the show has seen royalty before, they had never hosted anyone quite like the Duchess, per People Magazine.

The show’s official social media accounts welcomed her as a “super special” guest.

Meanwhile, as Markle focused on her culinary cameo, Prince Harry spent the day undertaking solo engagements in Melbourne and Canberra. His itinerary included meeting with the charity Movember and visiting the Australian War Memorial to spend time with veterans.

Markle’s surprise television appearance, however, triggered a wave of intense criticism across social media, with many fans questioning the Duchess’s motives. Critics were quick to point out what they perceived as a contradiction between her frequent calls for privacy and her decision to join a major reality competition.

Users described the move as “bizarre” and “desperate,” suggesting that the guest judging role was an attempt to stay in the limelight.

One vocal critic wrote, “Markle and Harry are modern-day carnival barkers. They’re finished in the US, so time to pack up and head to AU for a new grift.”

Others mocked the visit as the “privacy tour,” expressing frustration that the couple continues to seek high-profile media opportunities.

“For someone that wants privacy and to stay out of the press, this is a very bizarre thing to do… much like her shows! Very contradictory,” another user wrote.

While the online reaction was swift and harsh, the general sentiment among Australians on the ground appeared to be one of indifference or mixed emotions.

According to The Blast, most locals were surprisingly unaware that the couple was even in the country. While one resident, Deanne Cobb, expressed sympathy for the pair, noting they face “heavy scrutiny” as they try to live their lives, others were far more critical of their current path.

Francesca, who knew of the visit but questioned its purpose, felt the couple had handled their departure from the royal family poorly.

“I don’t know why they’re coming,” Francesca said.

Meanwhile, Alex Hadley suggested that while being free from royal duties might be “nice,” it has also made the couple seem less relevant.

The reports of local indifference and public skepticism have been joined by rumors of strict personal guidelines governing the couple’s behavior during the trip.

According to insiders, the duchess has reportedly established a set of “non-negotiable” rules for Prince Harry to ensure the tour remains scandal-free.

These alleged conditions include a “tight leash” regarding social outings, with a specific curfew intended to prevent the Prince from repeating past errors in judgment during late-night events, per The Blast.

Sources suggest that Meghan is particularly concerned about Harry’s behavior after a few drinks, preferring that he remain in a “low-key proud husband mode” rather than attract negative headlines.

While the Prince is reportedly allowed some freedom to socialize with friends, these interactions are said to be limited to civilized dinners and a modest amount of wine.

Despite the drama surrounding the couple’s visit, there appears to be some emotional sentiment attached to their tour.

Harry and Markle made a poignant visit to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, an engagement that mirrored a historic trip made by Princess Diana and the current King Charles in 1985.

Exactly forty years after his parents walked those same halls, Harry and his wife were seen holding hands and smiling as they met with a large crowd of healthcare workers, patients, and their families.

The Blast reported that many in attendance requested selfies and greeted the couple warmly as they moved through the facility, which felt to many like a tribute to the late Princess’s well-known humanitarian spirit.

This visit to the medical facility allowed the Duke and Duchess to connect with patients just as Diana had during her thirteen-day tour of Australia decades ago.
