“The White Lotus” showrunner and two-time “Survivor” castaway Mike White addressed the growing speculation about which player is going to be on Season 4 of his show. On April 21, the “Survivor” Instagram account posted a video where several players read some famous lines from the Emmy-winning series.

“They’re going to have to audition! We’re going to put them to the test and see who’s the best,” White said. Some of the castaways included Ozzy Lusth, Joe Hunter, Cirie Fields, Rizo Velovic, Q Burdette, and Jonathan Young. One by one, they recited their lines, with some adding their own dramatic flair.

Toward the end of the video, Angeline Keeley, who appeared in Season 2, said, “I don’t need to read, I’ve already been on the show.”

While White didn’t comment on the players’ acting chops, many shared their opinions in the comments section. The reactions were mixed, but a majority agreed that Cirie and Ozzy nailed their auditions. “Cirie and Ozzy did the best! GET. THEM. On!!” one user wrote, while another added, “Cirie and Ozzy and give them lines cause they were actually good.” “Oh Cirie is coming for that EGOT,” another added.

All three seasons of “The White Lotus” had at least one “Survivor” player cameo. White’s Goliath tribemate in “Survivor 37,” Alec Merlino, played a bartender/waiter named Hutch. He appeared in five of the six episodes in Season 1.

The first episode of “The White Lotus” Season 2 had Angelina Keeley and Kara Kay playing rich guests at the luxurious hotel.

“The White Lotus” Season 3 had three “Survivor” cameos, though they all didn’t have lines. Natalie Cole and Carl Boudreaux were hotel guests dining at the restaurant, while Christian Hubicki briefly appeared as one of the people enjoying drinks at the hotel resort’s outdoor club.

How Mike White’s ‘Survivor’ Experience Influenced Season 4

In an interview with W Magazine published in February, White shared that he came up with “The White Lotus” Season 4 concept while filming “Survivor 50.” The writer revealed that he ended up blocking players that he liked on the island on social media due to their “strong social media presences.”

“I don’t know if that’s exactly the theme of the next season of ‘White Lotus’, but it’s definitely something I’ve thought about a lot — prioritizing likes or the attention of strangers over creating real relationships,” said White, adding that Season 4 will be “a bit about fame.”

As for other possible cameo appearances, White said that he isn’t closing the doors on “Survivor” host Jeff Probst. “He could only play himself. I would cameo him if there’s the right situation,” he shared.

Inside ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4

“The White Lotus” Season 4 is currently in production, and this time, the series will take place on the French Riviera. Reports also say that the Cannes Film Festival will be featured, and some scenes will be shot in Paris. Cast members have been announced, with Heather Graham, Helena Bonham Carter, Marissa Long, Steve Coogan, and Vincent Cassel among those appearing in the upcoming season.

White also revealed that one of the “early thoughts” he had for Season 4 was which character to kill off, but of course, the writer is keeping their identity under wraps.

“The White Lotus” Season 4 is expected to premiere sometime in 2027.
