Miley Cyrus is taking fans on a nostalgic trip back to where it all began, and she’s not holding anything back. During the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary” special, which dropped March 24 on Disney+ and Hulu, the Grammy winner opened up about her Disney Channel days, sharing never-before-heard stories about her early fame, family life, and even her childhood crushes. From on-set romances to behind-the-scenes reflections, Miley Cyrus is giving fans a whole new look at the iconic era that helped shape her career.
Miley Cyrus Admits She Ditched Her Hometown Crush For Mitchel Musso

One of the biggest revelations? Miley’s crush on her “Hannah Montana” co-star Mitchel Musso. Before landing the role, Miley had her eye on someone back in Nashville, but that quickly changed once she stepped into the Disney spotlight.
“I thought Mitchel Musso was really cute,” Miley admitted of her co-star, who played Oliver. “So I was like, ‘OK, bye, Jeff.’ It’s all about Mitchell now. I was like, ‘Great! Crush. I’m good now. I’m set up.’”
The singer also revealed she had crushes on fellow Disney stars Dylan Sprouse and Nick Jonas during that time, both of whom she went on to date. “Secretly, OK, Dylan Sprouse was my boyfriend. I think he was the cutest,” the singer revealed to Alex Cooper. “Dylan was my crush.”
And, of course, fans know Miley Cyrus famously dated Nick Jonas during her early Disney Channel days, and their young romance came with its fair share of drama, most notably when she appeared to call him out after their breakup by flashing a photo of him in her “7 Things” music video.
How ‘Hannah Montana’ Shaped Her Life

While the show launched her into superstardom, Miley made it clear that “Hannah Montana” also played a major role in shaping her identity.
Looking back, she acknowledged just how unique her upbringing was during that time. “I don’t know if our reality would be the same without the show, for better or for worse,” Miley told Alex Cooper during the special. “No family really gets to experience what we had.”
The experience, she explained, not only defined her career but also deeply impacted her personal life and relationships.
Miley Cyrus Opens Up About Family And Reconciliation With Billy Ray Cyrus

Miley also got emotional while discussing her relationship with her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, especially after their public ups and downs over the past year. Now, she says things are in a much better place, and that means a lot not just to her, but to fans who grew up watching them together.
“I’m really excited for him to be here, because I know how much our relationship means to everyone that watched this show,” Miley continued. “I think when me and my dad are good, people, they feel better. It just feels good when the Cyruses are getting along.”
Cyrus Says This Is The ‘Coolest’ Perk Of Being A Disney Legend

Miley Cyrus may have global fame, chart-topping hits, and a Grammy under her belt, but it turns out one of her favorite flexes is a little more… parking-related.
During the anniversary special, Miley revealed what she considers the ultimate perk of her Disney legacy status, and it’s something she clearly doesn’t take lightly. “The coolest perk, I’m a Disney Legend now, and I have Disney Legend parking, and it says Disney Legend when I park,” she shared. “That is clutch.”
Miley Cyrus Gives Rare Insight Into Romance With Maxx Morando

While much of the special focused on her past, Miley Cyrus also offered a glimpse into her present, hinting at her relationship with fiancé Maxx Morando. Though she didn’t mention him by name, Miley made it clear she’s entered a new chapter in her love life, one that feels more grounded and meaningful than ever before.
“I’ve been extremely blessed to have so much love within my family and now finding love in a different way, finding love to where I feel like I’m taking next step into my womanhood of creating a life with someone,” she shared. “Everybody has a fantasy of wanting to feel loved, and I’ve always felt it from these different places.”
The “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary” special is now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
