Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s Hollywood ambitions have seemingly taken a hit as reports suggest Netflix is “done” with the royal couple.
The streaming giant reportedly didn’t like their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, as well as Harry’s blockbuster memoir “Spare,” feeling those projects made their own work with them fall below expectations.
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle is scheduled to headline an “ultimate girls’ weekend” retreat in Australia later in April, and experts have said she’ll attend as a “paid celebrity.”
Netflix Feels It’s The End Of The Road For The Duke And Duchess’s ‘Repackaged’ Royal Exit Story

The multi-million dollar deal between Netflix and the Sussexes seems to be on its last leg as multiple projects remain in production limbo.
The former working royals signed their initial, landmark multi-year deal with Netflix in September 2020 through their production company, Archewell Productions.
While the original estimated $100 million deal ended after five years, they signed a new “first-look” deal in 2025 to continue producing content, including documentaries and lifestyle series.
However, an explosive report by Variety claims the duke and duchess’s working relationship with Netflix has hit a dead end, with multiple well-placed sources revealing that their union has been “far from a fairy tale.”
“The Sussexes’ perceived pattern of selling repackaged versions of the same story about their exit from royal life has exhausted Netflix,” the report notes. “Their partnership may continue to taper off, and with it, will Meghan and Harry’s remaining showbusiness lifeline.”
Netflix Is ‘Done’ With Prince Harry And Meghan

Since leaving their royal roles for a new life abroad, the couple has tried their hands in several money-making ventures, including Meghan’s brand As Ever, and sales from Harry’s memoir.
However, the Netflix deal was the most prolific for them as it led to the release of some successful projects, including their record-breaking debut docuseries “Harry & Meghan.”
However, recent ventures have fallen flat, with Variety saying that the “lacklustre” ratings for shows such as “With Love, Meghan” led Netflix to reconsider continuing with them.
The publication quotes a source as saying: “The mood in the building is ‘We’re done.'”
Prince Harry And Meghan’s Way Of Doing Business Also ‘Ruffled Feathers’ With Netflix

Harry and Meghan’s way of doing business came under scrutiny as the magazine claims their “bedside manner has ruffled feathers in meetings,” with the couple’s company, Archewell Productions, being accused of exhibiting “poor communication” in their dealings.
There are also claims that Netflix chief Ted Sarandos is “fed up with the pair,” but the report has been denied by both parties as Netflix said it is “absolutely inaccurate,” while a lawyer for Harry and Meghan, Michael J Kump, said it was “blatantly false” in a letter to Variety.
Speaking on Meghan’s approach in particular, the publication notes, “In virtual and in-person meetings with partners, she tends to talk over or recast Prince Harry’s thoughts, sometimes while he is in mid-sentence, sources say (usually preceded by a touch to the arm or thigh).”
However, Mr. Kump downplayed the claims, saying it “seems calculated to play into the misogynistic characterisation of her bossing her husband around.”
Netflix Was ‘Annoyed’ With The Couple’s Oprah Move, Sources Claim

More damning claims in the article reveal Netflix was “annoyed” with the Montecito-based royals’ decision to grant Oprah Winfrey a tell-all interview following their departure from the royal family.
The streaming giant is also said to have been “blindsided” by Harry’s decision to release his blockbuster memoir “Spare,” as they felt it took a toll on their own documentary with the couple.
It remains to be seen what comes out of their TV endeavors, as the Variety expose claims “A-list talent and directors” are “hesitant to work with the pair,” given their track record.
To add salt to injury, “sales agents and filmmakers on the ground” are reportedly uninterested in having anything to do with Archewell Productions, although Netflix says it remains committed to their “first look” deal.
Meghan Markle Is Set To Headline Australian Retreat For Women

As their relationship with Netflix comes under scrutiny, Harry and Meghan still have other ventures to look forward to, particularly their upcoming trip to Australia, where the former “Suits” actress would headline a meet-and-greet event.
Reports suggest she’ll deliver a gala dinner speech at the event and also pose for photos with VIP guests. More than 300 attendees are expected to grace the occasion, with ticket prices costing about £1,700 [$2,265].
However, Meghan’s upcoming trip has already come under scrutiny due to its cost, and claims that the event’s organizers are facing a debt of over $500,000.
The duchess is also said to be unhappy that details of her scheduled itinerary to Australia were leaked, and she’s concerned about what other personal matters could surface.
“She was horrified when word got out, ahead of the official announcement, that she would be appearing at a women’s retreat in Sydney,” a source told New Idea, per The Blast.
They continued, “She likes to be in control, and the chaotic announcement about her arrival was anything but polished. While a leak about the trip isn’t the end of the world, Meghan’s losing sleep at what else could come out.”
