Former "RHOA" star Kenya Moore is denying claims that she's behind on rent and explaining the situation with her landlord.

Former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kenya Moore opened her hair spa in June 2024, following the launch of a line of hair care products. However, since launching the business, not only has Moore departed "RHOA," but her business has reportedly suffered several setbacks, both legally and business-wise, with locals claiming the salon is mostly abandoned. The former Miss USA took to social media to shoot down rumors that she's behind on rent for the location.

Moore took to Instagram on February 27 to announce plans for a YouTube live session. However, the former "RHOA" star also used the post to shoot down rumors about her hair spa.
She said, bluntly, "The reports about me being behind on rent are false." From there, the mother of one went on to explain the situation, not denying that she hadn't paid rent, but stating that the landlord had failed to uphold his end of their contract.
Moore continued, "As I have stated before, my company is in an active lawsuit against my salon landlord for failing to pay nearly $80,000 in tenant improvement allowance OWED TO ME. I invested over $300,000 of my own money to build out my salon in a commercial space from a “white box”. When the landlord failed to reimburse contractual expenses, I withheld rent in an effort to reach a fair settlement and subsequently filed a countersuit for the amount they failed to reimburse.
The Former 'RHOA' Star Also Teased Brit Eady Intel

As fans know, Moore is no longer on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" following the July 2024 incident at her hair salon that saw her allegedly displaying harmful images of Brit Eady. This not only led to Moore's dismissal but also to a since-dropped lawsuit from Eady against Bravo.
Moore mentioned Eady while promoting her upcoming YouTube live session, teasing that she had more to say about their unfortunate encounter. According to the former "Housewives" star, "Join me live on YouTube this Sunday at 5 pm Eastern to chat. Submit your questions on my YouTube channel and subscribe to get notifications. Thank you, Team Twirl. You are the best fans on the planet! I will also be updating you on my new projects, relationship status, and encounter with Brit Eady. It’s going to be juicy!"
Fans Have Reacted To The Social Media Post
Moore has limited comments on the social media post, but many commented, with most on her side. One person wrote, "I love you, and we don't care. We just want you back on TV and film, where you belong." Moore then responded, saying, "Love you back."
However, someone else felt that the former "RHOA" star made a bad investment. They said, "Kenya... girl for $300k, you could have owned your own space. That's one life less I've learned the hard way... ownership is always the best route. I'm praying you win your countersuit." She replied, "I own everything. The spa was my first commercial build out. Always lessons to be learned, sis. I have a lot to teach."
Finally, another person wrote, "Kenya, I personally never believe the headlines. You're way too classy for that, for sure, and you're very responsible. Team twirl for sure."
The Former Bravo Star Was Recently Ordered To Pay Back Rent
Moore has been accused of ceasing rent payments for her Kenya Moore Hair Spa in December 2024. According to TMZ, she was recently ordered to pay over $80,000 in back rent and utilities. Specifically, she was supposed to pay $43,988 but late February and $43,988.67 before late March. It's worth noting that the judge also ordered the "RHOA" alum to pay $5,000 per month in rent unless she vacates the establishment.
So far, there is no word on whether she's made the February payment, and the landlord has requested possession of the location.
Kenya Moore Recently Addressed Her 'Housewives' Future
Moore took to her YouTube channel in January 2026 to host a live session and respond to questions from fans. While on, she was asked if she would be featured on the upcoming "Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th" limited series on Bravo. She said in the clip, "At this moment, no. And I think that's legal stuff. It has nothing to do with whether they thought I was a legendary housewife or not."
Moore added, "Obviously, you guys know the answer to that. So that's a whole different legal thing that I think the powers that be are weighing out right now."
