Tearful Savannah Guthrie Fears The Worst For Her Mother, Offers Million-Dollar Reward

In an emotional message, Savannah Guthrie admits her mother may be gone but says her family still needs closure.

Savannah Guthrie fought back tears this week as she delivered the update no daughter ever wants to give. 

After weeks of searching for her missing mother, the “Today” show anchor admitted the unthinkable may be possible. 

Still, she is refusing to give up. In an emotional video, Savannah announced a staggering $1 million reward for information, pleading for answers as investigators continue working around the clock in Arizona.

Savannah Guthrie revealed on Tuesday that her family is now offering “up to $1 million” for any information that leads to her mother’s recovery. 

Speaking directly to followers on Instagram, she made it clear that the family needs closure. “We need to know where she is, we need her to come home,” Savannah said. 

Though hope remains, she acknowledged the painful reality they are facing. “We also know that she may be lost, she may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the lord that she loves,” she added through tears.

The television host explained that even if her mother has died, the family will “accept it,” but not knowing is unbearable. 

In her message, she also addressed anyone with knowledge of the case. “If you’ve been waiting and you haven’t been sure, let this be your sign to please come forward,” she urged, asking for help to bring Nancy home, one way or another.

Savannah Thanks Supporters And Donates $500,000

Even as her family faces uncertainty, Savannah Guthrie announced they have donated $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

She praised the organization for “helping families who are coping with loss and actively looking for those who are lost.” 

The journalist said she hopes the attention surrounding her mother’s case will also shine a light on other families facing similar heartbreak.

“We are hoping that the attention that has been given to our mom and our family will extend to all the families like ours, who are in need, and need prayers and need support,” she shared.

In her emotional plea, Savannah asked for compassion and courage from anyone who may know something. 

She said, “Tell what you know and help us bring our beloved mom home so that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming or celebrate the beautiful, brave, noble, and courageous life that she has lived. Please be the light in the dark.”

Fans Send Prayers And Well Wishes To Savannah Guthrie And Her Family

Shortly after Savannah poured out her heart to fans, many trooped to the comments section to offer support to the broadcaster. 

They prayed for the star, while encouraging her to remain hopeful.

“Please God, give one person the courage to come forward and bring Nancy home. Praying for a miracle,” one fan wrote.

A second person noted that they had been praying for the investigators to get a clue and locate Nancy Guthrie alive and well. “Know that God has her in HIS hands and is with her,” they added.

A third fan also commented, “Praying for you, praying for the safe return of your mom, and sending so much love. We believe she will come home to you.”

Other fans praised Savannah for speaking up for families that are grieving as well.

Savannah’s Mother Vanished Under Disturbing Circumstances

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31 at her home just outside Tucson. She was reported missing the next day. Authorities believe she was taken against her will.

Investigators have confirmed troubling evidence at the scene, including drops of blood found on the front porch. 

However, officials have released a few additional details about what may have happened.

Surveillance images released by the FBI show a masked individual near the home the night Nancy disappeared. Some photos depict the person wearing a backpack, while others do not. 

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department addressed the discrepancy, saying, “There is no date or time stamp associated with these images. Therefore, any suggestion that the photographs were taken on different days is purely speculative.”

More than 20,000 tips have poured in, and several hundred investigators, including the FBI and other agencies, are now involved in the case.

Savannah Guthrie’s Community Divided As Volunteers Continue Searching

Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has sparked grassroots search efforts in the dense desert near her home. 

Despite official requests to step back, volunteers have continued combing the area.

The sheriff’s department has asked for space, stating that despite the urgent need to find the 84-year-old, the search should be left to professionals. 

Still, a small group reported discovering a black backpack over the weekend. Authorities later said it did not match the one seen in surveillance footage and did not appear to be a viable lead.

Meanwhile, law enforcement has maintained a constant presence at the Guthrie home. A temporary one-way traffic pattern was even established to allow emergency vehicles through as media crews and onlookers gathered.

Neighbors have had mixed reactions. Some welcome the attention, believing it keeps pressure on the case. Others have put up cones and signs to keep people off their property.

Outside the house, a growing memorial of flowers, yellow ribbons, crosses, and handwritten prayers now marks the spot. 

Each tribute reflects a community holding onto hope even as Savannah herself bravely admits she fears the worst.
