Sydney is opening up about the hardest part of filming the Netflix reality show "Temptation Island" with her boyfriend, Mikey. The ‘Temptation Island’ Star Reveals Hardest Part About Filming The Show first appeared on The Blast
Being part of the main cast of Netflix’s “Temptation Island” is no walk in the park, according to one of the series’ leading ladies, Sydney. During a new interview, Sydney opened up about how it felt to slowly fall in love with her new partner, Xzavier, while also dealing with intense feelings about her relationship with Mikey. Elsewhere, Sydney also got candid about the hardest part of filming the show.
Sydney Gets Real About The Hardest Part Of Filming Netflix’s ‘Temptation Island’

Speaking with Tudum, Sydney said she couldn’t help but fall in love with Xzavier, despite being in a relationship with Mikey.
In season 2 of the Netflix series, viewers saw Sydney slowly explore her connection with Xzavier, which later turned into a full-blown relationship.
“He gave me a different perspective on what men in today’s dating world look like,” Sydney said about their connection.
With her new relationship, though, came the end of her year-and-a-half-long relationship with Mikey.
“The hardest moment was having to let go of my best friend,” Sydney said about the moment she ended things with the 24-year-old. “But I know that that relationship wasn’t good for my mental health… He’s a great guy, but he’s just not my guy.”
Sydney Had No Doubt About Leaving ‘Temptation Island’ With Xzavier

As the new couple exchanged their “I love yous” on the beach, was there any doubt in Sydney’s mind about her decision?
“This experience really showed me what I deserved as a woman,” she said. “My biggest lesson was it’s OK to be transparent with your emotions, and it’s OK to love purely and outwardly.”
Mikey, meanwhile, would’ve left the show with Sydney had she chosen to return their relationship.
“I know I left by myself, but if she would’ve said to me, ‘I want to go home with you,’ I probably would’ve been like, ‘All right. Bet. We got a lot to figure out,'” he admitted.
‘Temptation Island’ Is More Than Just Steamy Hookups

Mikey and Sydney weren’t the only couples to experience turbulence in their relationship on “Temptation Island”—but at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about.
Beyond the steamy hookups and dramatic fallouts, “Temptation Island” is meant to test the four couples’ bonds and help them determine whether they’re really meant to be together.
It’s a job that host Mark L. Walberg takes extremely seriously. “It’s real for me, and I don’t know how to detach or phone it in,” he told Tudum. “Having done it for years and years now, I can tell you that the people who come on [Temptation Island] really do get answers to their questions.”
Whether the answers come during the cast’s solo dates or during the intense bonfire sessions, Walberg said his primary goal is to support the couples on their journey.
“For me, it’s all [about] listening. There isn’t a script we’re following. There’s nothing planned. I’ve chosen over the years not to look at the clips before [the bonfire], because I want to be trusted by them. I want to be able to sit with them and then ask questions — either gently or firmly — to see if there is something for us to learn,” he said.
Hosting The Show Can Be A Bit Emotional For Walberg

Like the cast members themselves, Walberg admitted he also experiences intense emotions while filming the show.
“I get choked up and have to pull my sh-t together. I know it sounds like a line, but I say to them, ‘I’m more committed to you getting something out of this than I think you are to you right now,'” he said. “When I see just a light go on [inside them] and they consider something in their life they never have before — that’s the thing you got to give space for.”
A Season 2 Contestant Spills Behind-The-Scenes Secrets

Season 2 contestant Kai Stone shared a similar sentiment, according to The Blast. During a recent interview, the 29-year-old software company CEO said that things can get a bit intense inside the villa and that finding space to cool down is rare.
“You’re mic’d up all day, cameras are always around, when you’re not filming something structured, you’re still ‘on,’” he said.
He went on to say that the cast doesn’t have “much time to step away and reset,” which makes the experiment much more grueling. “You kind of lose your sense of time a bit,” he said.
