Pop star Britney Spears won’t have to worry about her mugshot circulating across social media following her DUI arrest in early March. The “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, but was released within hours of her arrest. Although her hearing is not until May, law enforcement officials have already decided that they are not going to release her mugshot to the public.

On March 10, approximately one week after her DUI arrest, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office told Us Weekly that her booking photo would not be made public. A spokesperson said that the mugshot “does not fall within the requirements and is considered discretionary.”

“It is our practice to release booking photos for violent crimes or when an individual is an immediate threat to the public. The charges being brought against Brittany Spears does not warrant release in accordance with our policy,” an official at the sheriff’s office told TMZ.

Since the “Toxic” singer does not fall under either category, her mugshot will not be made public.

The “Lucky” singer has been surrounded by friends and family following the DUI arrest. However, she does not seem to want support from her father, Jamie Spears, who ran her conservatorship for approximately 12 years. The conservatorship ended in November 2021, when it was struck down by a judge.

On March 9, a Los Angeles associate who has regular contact with her friend group and her family, exclusively told Page Six that the Princess of Pop was “on edge” and “antagonized” over the thought of reuniting with her father. However, Jamie reportedly “doesn’t want to remain disconnected from his daughter” any longer and wants “the chance to be able to talk with her and find some middle ground.”

Unfortunately, it will be difficult to make amends due to the nature of her conservatorship, where the insider said that she felt “trapped and controlled.”

“There is long-term hatred and loathing that may never be overcome,” the source shared. “Jamie puts Britney on edge, and her moods get deeply dark around the prospect of him being in her life … despite efforts by people in her life for some reunion.”

“She hated having to adhere to regular doctor visits, therapy sessions, and medication plans. That is understandable for someone who is dealing with a bipolar condition,” the insider continued. “Obviously, a father overseeing the principle of that process is a tricky situation — not least emotionally — but her condition needed some medical supervision.”

In her 2023 memoir, “The Woman In Me,” the “Crossroads” actress described how her father treated her during her approximately 13-year conservatorship.

“Thirteen years went by with me feeling like a shadow of myself. I think back now on my father and his associates having control over my body and my money for that long and it makes me feel sick,” she wrote in an excerpt published by PEOPLE magazine.

“Think of how many male artists gambled all their money away; how many had substance abuse or mental health issues,” she continued. “No one tried to take away their control over their bodies and money. I didn’t deserve what my family did to me.”

Britney Spears Claims Her Father Called Her ‘Fat’

In the memoir, Britney claimed that her father called her “fat” on more than one occasion. “If I thought getting criticized about my body in the press was bad, it hurt even more from my own father,” she wrote. “He repeatedly told me I looked fat and that I was going to have to do something about it.”

In the midst of her conservatorship, the singer said that she began to feel “infantilized” and compared herself to “a sort of child-robot.”

“I became a robot. But not just a robot — a sort of child-robot. I had been so infantilized that I was losing pieces of what made me feel like myself,” she wrote in another excerpt. “The conservatorship stripped me of my womanhood, made me into a child. I became more of an entity than a person onstage. I had always felt music in my bones and my blood; they stole that from me.”
