When Kimothy saw a post by Nicky Beauclaire on her Facebook page she just knew she had to invite her to be on the show. It was a raw invitation and so very brave.Nicky wrote that she had just been released from short-term psychiatric care and wanted to see if anyone wanted to have coffee with her. So, we did…on camera.The lonely plea for companionship was one Amy and Kimothy had not heard in their research on women’s mental health challenges.. Living on less than $1,100 a month (Canadian) on a disability cheque, Nicky has limited options to live and thrive.What happened next was a heartfelt and stunningly vulnerable conversation with someone wanting/needing help but finding doors closed to her. We were deeply touched by her bravery at exposing her fears and sadness.We’re certain she’s one of very, very many people in similar situations.
