The lovebirds tied the knot in an intimate Santa Barbara ceremony on September 27, 2025, surrounded by family members and star-studded guests.

As the day draws near to the one-year mark of their forever journey, Benny Blanco is reminiscing about his relationship with Selena Gomez, who, in addition to being his life partner, is also his best friend.

Benny Blanco Gets Candid About ‘Easy’ Marriage To Selena Gomez 

The music producer sat down for a chat with Jenna Bush Hager on her podcast, where he reflected on how his first year of marriage has been so far.

Blanco shared that it feels like he is living in a fairy tale, as it has been “so easy” and wonderful to build a future with his best friend. He explained that the conjugal bliss they’ve enjoyed makes the days pass by so fast, and they are effortlessly in sync with each other.

“Honestly, it happened so quickly. I was literally just talking to Selena yesterday cause we’re about to celebrate our one year, and I was like, ‘What even happened?’ It’s like done already,” Blaco told Hager.

As the conversation continued on the September 15 episode of “Today with Jenna & Sheinelle,” the cookbook author noted that they complement each other like “yin and yang.”

Blanco then reiterated that everything has been so easy throughout the first year of marriage. “Sometimes I get home, and I feel like we’re gossiping about the same thing. It’s like, I don’t know. It’s my best friend that I get to spend the rest of my life with,” he added.

In the same interview, Blanco joked that he has been “pinching myself every day” and asking his wife, “Are you sure you picked the right guy?” He went on to share some of his plans for their anniversary, marking their first year of marriage.

He told the show’s host that they were able to save some slices of their wedding cake on the advice of Gomez’s “nana,” who told them it was a tradition.

The music producer also disclosed that he would love to spend quality time with his wife, since they have been pulled in different directions by work over the past few months. The couple would probably rewatch clips of their wedding speeches to commemorate the start of their beautiful journey together as husband and wife.

“I want to walk down the aisle, and I want the aisle to be, like, Persian rugs off centered. I don’t want normal flowers. I don’t want it to feel bougie,” Gomez reportedly told Blanco. “I didn’t use black magic or anything,” the music executive noted, adding that he put effort into building a healthy rapport with Gomez by being understanding and engaging in open dialogue. He also noted that being nice is not limited to Gomez alone, but “Being nice to people put her into my orbit at the right time.”

This was raised in a May episode of his podcast, which he co-hosts with Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco. When asked to spill the tea on intimate details of their marriage, the author maintained that he would not be discussing it on air.

“I’m not allowed to talk about that publicly,” he said, and when pressed, Blanco noted that his reason for keeping things that way is out of respect for his wife. “No. I’m just like a gentleman. Kind of just a thing I do. I’m like a gentleman,” he told his co-hosts.
