Chris Evans has found himself in the spotlight after offering a rare glimpse into his personal life since becoming a father. 

The “Avengers” actor has been married to Portuguese actress Alba Baptista for three years and has kept most of their relationship out of the public eye. 

However, Evans has also been making headlines for more than one reason, following his much-discussed appearance in the “Avengers: Doomsday” trailer earlier this year. 

Chris Evans’ ‘Priorities’ Have Changed Since Becoming A Father 

Recently, the “Captain America” star reflected on how fatherhood has changed his attitude towards work. 

“I have a daughter now. You need a really good reason to want to go to work now. My priorities have shifted a bit.” Evans shared during an appearance at Fan Expo Boston 2026, as seen in a clip.

Fans may recall that Evans welcomed his daughter, baby Alma Grace Baptista Evans, with his wife, Baptista, last October, as confirmed by The Blast. The happy news came just weeks after the couple celebrated their second wedding anniversary. 

The pair tied the knot in a private Cape Cod ceremony in September 2023, just months after they became Instagram official.

Shortly after their wedding, Evans spilled the tea, revealing that he and Baptista were married and had not one, but two wedding ceremonies. 

The actor explained that they held a wedding on the East Coast and another in Portugal, Baptista’s home country, per The Blast.

The “Gifted” actor reflected on how special both parties were, also noting how stressful it has been to plan two separate events.  Evans proudly flaunted his wedding ring while speaking at the New York Comic Con event.

Chris Evans And Alba Baptista’s Relationship Timeline 

Although he shared details of their nuptials, the Marvel star has kept his relationship private. 

Evans and Baptista were rumored to be together since January 2022; it wasn’t until November that a source confirmed the relationship to People Magazine.

“They are in love and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her,” the informant revealed at the time. After months of speculation, the Hollywood star surprised fans by sharing a video on his Instagram story in January 2023. 

The video showed the lovebirds in multiple clips as they pranked each other in various spots around the house. In the video, it appeared Baptista was getting used to the Hollywood stars’ tricks. The caption read “A look back at 2022, heart emoji,” thus confirming the pair’s involvement. 

The couple continued to let fans in on their romance, with Evans sharing romantic videos on Valentine’s Day, and Baptista showing up to support him at the premiere of his movie, “Ghosted.”

Although Evans and Baptista continue to enjoy marital bliss, fans didn’t initially approve of their relationship. Many criticized the actor for marrying someone much younger than him.

“The only thing I’ll say about the Chris Evans/Alba Baptista news is their age gap is virtually the same as the one between me and my son (I’m 40, he’ll be 23 soon), so I find it gross as f-ck and have lost a lot of respect for Evans,” one fan wrote, per The Blast.

Evans’ personal life aside, the beloved Hollywood hunk was the subject of intense chatter following his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the “ Avengers: Doomsday.”

After the trailer was released last month, wild theories surfaced about the actor’s physical appearance. The Blast reported that while fans were excited about his return to the MCU, the noticeable change in his looks was hard to ignore. 

“I’m sorry, did Chris Evans just have his first glowdown?” one comment on social media read.

Evans, however, has never commented on whether he has had any procedures done.
