Hayden Panettiere‘s painful passing at 36 has triggered a wave of heartwarming tributes from her friends and family.

The actress’s former “Heroes” co-star, Sendhil Ramamurthy, recalled how she looked out for people on set, including background actors and crew members. 

Similarly, other stars, including Brittany Snow, Hilary Duff and Solange Knowles, have also shared personal memories of Panettiere and the impact she had on their lives.

Hayden Panettiere Stood Up For Others During Her Lifetime

One of the qualities Ramamurthy remembered most about Panettiere was the way she treated people around her on the “Heroes” set.

The actor, who played Dr. Mohinder Suresh on the sci-fi series, described his late co-star as confident, generous, and willing to speak up when others were treated unfairly.

In the Instagram post, Ramamurthy recalled meeting Panettiere during the final screen test for the project. He arrived extremely nervous, while Panettiere appeared relaxed as she sang show tunes in the waiting room.

Her confidence immediately stood out to him, particularly because she was considerably younger but already had significant experience as a performer.

He said working alongside her taught him a lot and praised the way she interacted with the people who helped make the show. According to Ramamurthy, Panettiere made an effort to get to know crew members personally and did not ignore mistreatment of background performers when she believed they were being mistreated.

“She stuck up for background actors when they were mistreated, knew every crew member’s name, and was so generous with her time,” he wrote.

Ramamurthy also remembered how he and Adrian Pasdar would try to distract Panettiere from her schoolwork while she attended classes between filming sessions.
