Now that the clips have gone viral, some of Taylor’s “SLOMW” co-stars are chiming in to congratulate the mom of two on owning her truth.
Layla Taylor’s ‘SLOMW’ Co-Stars Congratulate The Mom Of Two On Coming Out As Bisexual
In the comment section of Shetty’s Instagram clip promoting the newest episode of his powerful “On Purpose” podcast, Taylor’s “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” co-stars react to the news that she’s sexually attracted to men and women.
Miranda Whorter commented, “So, so proud of her,” while Miranda’s ex-husband, Chase McWhorter, added clapping and rainbow emojis.
Jennifer Affleck commented, “There’s nothing more beautiful than living your truth,” and Mayci Neely wrote, “Love you and so proud of you, Lay.”
And the support didn’t stop there. Whitney Leavitt wrote, “Love you, Lay. So happy for you,” and Mikayla Matthews added, “You have my support always. Proud of you, Lay.”
Layla Taylor Admitted She’s Been Attracted To Women Since Childhood
According to a previous report from The Blast, Taylor spoke bravely with Shetty about her feelings toward men and women at the top of the episode, revealing that she’d been keeping the secret in for quite some time.
“I’m gay and bi,” she said, adding that she finds women and men attractive. She explained that it’s something she’s always known in her heart but never felt comfortable admitting it.
After living her life in front of the cameras for the past three years, Taylor said she’s finally found the strength to speak about her true self.
“I’ll be d-mned if I’m not able to be fully who I am,” she said
As the conversation continued, Taylor said that she was “proud” to be bisexual and to be “open” about her feelings.
How Layla Taylor’s Breakup With Mason McWhorter Prompted Her To Explore A New Side Of Herself

While Taylor has only exclusively dated men on camera, the reality star told Shetty that her split from Mason McWhorter (in February 2026), whom she dated during season 4 of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” prompted her to explore dating women.
“Honestly, I went through a breakup at the beginning of this year, and I feel like for just a long period of my life, I was constantly living my life for other people,” said Taylor. “Whether that was being a mom or I was in a marriage at one point, I was married. And I just feel like I was always fulfilling other people around me. And it honestly just caused me to never really focus on myself and never be able to really just sit alone with who I am as a person… And I think honestly that breakup was like a blessing in disguise because I feel like now I’ve been fully able to just focus on Layla. And yeah, just focus on who I truly am.”
Taylor said she understands her confession could turn some heads; however, it’s always been part of her life. She added that she didn’t know how to process her feelings because she didn’t grow up with queer representation.
“I would be watching shows like Pretty Little Liars, and I would watch Shay Mitchell [who played Emily Fields] kissing a girl. Was like, ‘Wait, why is that hot?’” she reflected. “But I didn’t know what those feelings were because I didn’t have queer representation around me. [No one] I could look at it and be like, ‘OK, this is normal.’”
How Is Taylor Trying To Learn More About Herself Since Coming Out?

Since accepting this new side of herself, Taylor said she’s gone out with a woman she had been communicating with on social media.
She likened the moment to a “first kiss,” revealing that she approached the moment with intention and bravery.
“Like this was me intentionally going into a moment knowing how I felt about women,” she said.
Taylor Will Be Part Of Season 5 Of ‘SLOMW’

It’s unclear whether Taylor’s story will be shown in the upcoming season of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” but based on the reaction above, she’d be met with love and support if she decided to share it with the group on camera.
And speaking of the upcoming season, Taylor told Shetty that things between some of the cast are a bit dicey right now since the streaming giant placed the show on pause following Taylor Frankie Paul’s legal woes. “I know that there’s some friendships that are in different places than they have been in the past,” she said.
Viewers will see the group’s dynamic play out when the show returns to Hulu later this year. For now, fans can stream seasons 1 through 4 on the streaming giant and Disney+.
