Margaret Qualley got together with her estranged husband, Jack Antonoff, in 2021. Two years later, they wed in a star-studded ceremony. While most details about their relationship remain private, they often gushed about their love for each other.

The cameras caught up with Qualley, who appeared chill as she listened to music while on set. The actress was seen for the first time since splitting from Antonoff nearly a month before their third wedding anniversary.

Getting into character for her role in the remake of the 1981 cult horror classic, she walked on the New Jersey set of Paramount Pictures with her wired earphones plugged in. Qualley donned a bare-back black long-sleeved bodysuit, which she paired with a matching A-line chiffon skirt.

The industry star sealed the look with black pantyhose and a pair of black loafers selected by costume designer Jocelyn Pierce. The Daily Mail reports that during one tense scene, she topped her outfit with a preppy cardigan as she stormed out of the fictional Park View Cafe in visible distress onto the sidewalk.

What Has Jack Antonoff Been Up To?

The award-winning musician may still be holding on to the hopes of reconciliation, as he is reportedly yet to take off his wedding ring. The pair have, however, not been pictured together since the Grammy Awards on February 1.

Antonoff is also moving on with his career as his band, “The Bleachers,” is scheduled to headline his very own Shadow of the City Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey on August 28.

Last month, his band noticeably stopped performing Lana Del Rey’s emotional love ballad “Margaret,” which the 14-time Grammy winner wrote about his now-estranged wife.

For Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, Antonoff stirred the pot when he showed up with his sister Rachel as his plus-one rather than Qualley. 

The actress has notably changed her Instagram handle back to her legal name, Sarah Margaret Qualley, instead of her previous handles @isimolady and @isimostar, which referenced the singer’s 2024 track Isimo. 

The Couple’s Breakup Was Attributed To Personality Clashes

Rumors analyzing the former lovebirds’ split rose from different points of view. While neither party has addressed their breakup, providing a background story or insights into why they called it quits, the speculation continues to flourish.

A source reportedly close to the couple told media outlets that their relationship was short-lived due to the significant differences in their perspectives on life. These personality differences allegedly ultimately created unbearable strain in their marriage.

“Margaret has a light, very positive energy. She’s warm, upbeat and always tries to see the best in people,” the source disclosed. “Jack tends to be more serious. They just look at life differently.” 

As shared by The Blast, the insider noted that in the long run, their personalities were not the best match, leading to their split nearly three years into the marriage.

A different source claimed that there was a “lack of trust” in their marriage, among other things, which affected Qualley and Antonoff. They alleged that the pair had been treading on rough grounds in their union for years until the actress decided to pull the plug.

Other factors that reportedly contributed to their split were their busy schedules and distance. The relationship reportedly became increasingly “hard” to maintain due to the “trust issues” they faced over the years; hence, the breakup was not a sudden decision.

Earlier reports from The Blast show that the musician had opened up to his friends, allegedly telling them that married life had not been as easy as he expected. The former lovebirds had tried to give their marriage a shot a few months ago, but their efforts ended in futility.

Qualley, via her rep, released a statement addressing the claims that there were trust and infidelity issues within their relationship. The statement debunked the claims, which were already gaining ground in the media.

“The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue. There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship. They have deep love and care for one another,” part of the statement read.

The Blast shared that Qualley’s rep stressed that the reports from sources to the press had no concrete background before requesting privacy to deal with the next phase. While the pair have officially separated, shifting focus to their individual careers, there are no reports of a legal move to end their marriage officially.
