Miley Cyrus may be letting the music speak for itself about her relationship with her sister, Noah Cyrus.

A song on the “Hannah Montana” actress’ 10th studio album, “Bass Persuades,” may be about her younger sister. 

From the start of the track, Miley sounds like a big sister who wants to help someone in trouble but doesn’t know how.

“I want better for my sister/She calls me only when it’s late night and she’s high/Her mind is spinning/Eight nights in a row, She’s been in a crisis/She looks just like me, yeah, when she cries/Now that we’re both older,” the lyrics read.

In the chorus, the 33-year-old seemingly reflected on her sister’s younger years, while admitting some things can only be understood with age:

“I tried to save all of her innocent ways/Grace comes with age, but don’t tell her/Fall out from the fame, claim my mother’s maiden name/Lips in crimson shades, how I love her.”

The “Flowers” hitmaker did not stop there; she went on to describe someone who keeps her guard up in public, only letting her soft side show behind doors.

The song gets even more personal when the singer reflects on a prior bad decision, a letter that should not have been sent. “I made the error/I kinda caved when I know better/I should’ve never sent that letter/But I was wired and in my feelings/I wonder if she went and changed her number/I tried to call her three times over/Is she alright? It keeps on ringing.”

The former child star has not confirmed if the song is about Noah. However, Entertainment Weekly has reached out to reps for Miley. 

Noah Cyrus Opened Up On Family Drama 

Naturally, fans are putting on their detective hats and picking apart Miley’s heartfelt lyrics, especially with longstanding speculation that the sisters’ relationship has been strained.

Noah had previously skipped her mother Tish Cyrus’ 2023 wedding to Dominic Purcell amid rumors that she was previously casually involved with the actor. Last year she set the record straight. 

Although the “July” singer never directly addressed those rumors, she let fans know that there was still love in the clan.

She disclosed that her family remained unbothered by public perception of them and were instead focused on music, the one thing that connected them to the public, per The Blast.

Miley Cyrus Made A Major Name Change 

Despite the younger Cyrus sister’s statements, Miley made a notable change last month by dropping her last name ahead of her new music release.

This raised questions about whether all was truly well with the Hollywood family. 

The Blast reported that the former child star posted the cover art for her latest album, with the caption “MILEY.”  She also notably dropped her last name, Cyrus, from all social media handles, only going by her first name.

Following the “Wrecking Ball” singer’s bold move, her Father, Billy Ray Cyrus, shared his thoughts.

The country singer shared a photo of himself and his two children, with an emotional caption. “Family means more than ever now. I always called my little girl Miley. Just … Miley. Just like I always called my little boy Braison,” adding that he previously went by just “Cyrus.” 

“I told Miley yesterday I felt good about her going with her first name,” he posted, as reported by The Blast, before listing several celebrities who also go by their first name alone, including Cher, Prince, and Elvis, to name a few. 

Miley Cyrus Revealed That Her Latest Album Came Together Quickly

As the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer shows support for his daughter, Miley is busy looking ahead, opening up about the journey that led to her new album. 

“This album happened fast, but that’s been my life for 20 years,” the Disney alum shared. “Once I started wishing to land a role that would make LA my home, it’s been nonstop.”

She stated that “Bass Persuades” was a reflection of everywhere she had been in her career, and the peace that came with starting to slow down.

Miley thanked her fans for celebrating the release with her, saying it was a special record and that it was bliss to share it with them, per The Blast.
