North West has never been shy about embracing her individuality, whether through music, fashion, or her growing collection of piercings.

However, even as the 13-year-old continues to carve out her own identity in the spotlight, there is apparently one boundary her famous parents are unwilling to cross.

In a new interview, North opened up about the piercing she has been wanting for some time, while also sharing fresh insight into her rapidly developing music career and creative ambitions.

North West may love experimenting with her appearance, but she admitted there is one piercing that remains firmly off-limits.

During a recent conversation with Dazed, the teenager explained why body piercings appeal to her.

“They just make you your full self,” she revealed while discussing her fascination with the form of self-expression.

However, not every idea has received parental approval. While North has already become known for pushing style boundaries, she revealed that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have drawn the line at one particular request.

“I really want to get my bridge pierced, but I’m not allowed,” she said.

While much of the attention surrounding North West often focuses on her famous family, she made it clear that performing remains one of her biggest passions.

The young artist recently appeared during Molly Santana’s set at Rolling Loud in Orlando, an experience she described as especially meaningful because of the support she sees among female artists.

“It’s cool to show that females can connect through their music – because it’s always beef and stuff, and it’s never like that [with me],” North shared, adding, “I never wanna have beef with any girl, you know? Molly was the perfect person to do this with me because I’m her biggest fan for real.”

The appearance followed another milestone earlier this year when North made her first solo music festival performance at Summer Smash.

Asked about the experience, she gave a surprisingly confident answer. “Yeah, I wish I’d done it earlier, though. I’ve been ready,” the young star noted.

North also described performing in three words, sharing, “Fun, relieving and exciting.”

North West Is Taking Her Music Career More Seriously Than Ever

Although she released her debut EP, “N0rth4evr,” at just 12 years old, North suggested she is becoming increasingly disciplined about her craft.

One of the biggest changes has been her approach to preparation. “Rehearsing every day,” she said when asked what currently occupies most of her attention. “I used not to rehearse. I used to want to go out there and just see what happens. But I like dance rehearsing.”

That commitment also shapes what she considers the perfect day. Rather than describing vacations or downtime, North’s ideal schedule revolves around work.

“So maybe just going to rehearsal, and then going to the studio; that’s a perfect day,” she explained, adding, “Or having a big show would be the most ideal day.”

She was equally direct when discussing advice she has ignored. “To start my career later,” North said when asked about the worst guidance she had ever received.

  • North West previously made a major career move by signing a deal with Gamma, the music company that has a roster including Mariah Carey, Usher, Sexyy Red, and Snoop Dogg.
  • Her ambitions grew even bigger when reports revealed North was preparing for her first tour following the release of her debut EP, “N0RTH4EVR.”
  • North’s increasingly public profile has also sparked concerns, with Kim Kardashian reportedly feeling “insulted” by criticism that she isn’t doing enough to protect her daughter.
  • Her distinctive sense of style could eventually become a business in its own right, with reports claiming North is building a fashion empire around her increasingly recognizable aesthetic.

North Draws Inspiration From Artists While Creating Her Own Style

Even with access to some of the biggest names in entertainment, North West said she looks everywhere for inspiration.

Asked which female artists she enjoys listening to, she listed Bktherula, Baby Osama and Babyxsosa among her favorites.

However, when it comes to developing her own image, she explained that she borrows influences from a variety of sources.

“Everybody I listen to. Everybody I like,” North said. “I take little bits of their swag and just make my own swag out of it.”

She also revealed that she recently found herself starstruck after watching Lil Uzi Vert perform at Summer Smash.

“Lil Uzi’s Summer Smash set. It was crazy, and I got to meet them after… I cannot believe it even happened; I’m still starstruck,” North explained.

North West Says She Wants A Starbucks Job

Despite already releasing music, appearing at major festivals and growing up in one of entertainment’s most recognizable families, the 13-year-old also revealed that she still wants to experience something far more ordinary: a regular job.

Speaking about her future plans, North admitted, “I still wanna work.” She then revealed the specific job she has in mind, adding, “I wanna work at, like, Starbucks next year. I think I can next year ‘cause I’m gonna be 14, so… I think I can. I want to have a regular job, I guess.”

The plan may prove more complicated than North realizes. While California allows teenagers to begin working at 14 under certain conditions, Starbucks typically requires employees to be at least 16 years old.

There are also obvious security concerns that would come with placing one of the world’s most recognizable celebrity children behind a coffee counter.
