Olympian Jack Sock described Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's July 3 celebration at Madison Square Garden as a “crazy experience." The Olympic Medalist Spills On ‘Crazy’ Taylor Swift Wedding Experience first appeared on The Blast
Jack Sock has competed on tennis’ biggest stages, won two Olympic medals and faced some of the sport’s most recognizable names, but none of it prepared him for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding. The former tennis star described the July 3 celebration at Madison Square Garden as a “crazy experience,” recalling how the enormous venue still placed him shoulder to shoulder with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
Sock’s account also offers a rare glimpse inside an event protected by a strict no-phone policy, where approximately 1,000 guests were treated to emotional speeches, comedy and performances from Swift and several music legends.
Jack Sock Calls The Wedding ‘Unbelievable’

Sock reflected on the wedding during an interview with Pickleball.com, describing an evening that shifted between laughter and emotional moments.
“It was an unbelievable experience,” the 33-year-old said. “It was everywhere from comedic relief to obviously tears for a lot of people. Great times, good energy, obviously, always gonna have that with Travis, who I’ve known for a long time now.”
Sock had known Kelce for years, but the wedding marked his first opportunity to meet Swift. “It was a cool experience,” he continued. “A lot of people watching, as I’m sure you all know, amazing singing performances by different people, [Taylor] included, which was really fun to see.”
Swift reportedly performed during the reception alongside artists including Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks. Adam Sandler provided some of the event’s comedic relief while officiating the ceremony.
Jack Sock Found Himself Surrounded By A-Listers

Although Madison Square Garden can hold nearly 20,000 spectators for major events, portions of the venue were transformed into more intimate spaces for the wedding. That design left Sock unexpectedly close to celebrity guests during cocktail hour.
“It was just one of the hallways they had at the cocktail hour, and there was just, ’cause you’re kind of shoulder to shoulder with everybody, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron, Brad Pitt, you’re just going down the road, and you’re standing there waiting,” he recalled. “It was just a crazy, crazy experience.”
Rather than attempt to mingle with every recognizable face, Sock decided to observe the scene from a comfortable distance. He said he “stayed on the outskirts” and “stayed in [his] lane,” admitting that he did not have extensive conversations with the Hollywood stars surrounding him.
Sock also left the celebration earlier than many of the other guests. “We were gone probably hours before a lot of people, but, yeah, it was fun. It was fun,” he said.
The Olympic Medalist’s Kansas City Connection

Sock’s invitation stemmed from his personal friendship with Kelce rather than his celebrity status alone. The two “became good friends over the years” through their shared Kansas City connections and time spent playing golf together.
Sock grew up in the Kansas City area after moving from Nebraska to Kansas at age 11. He attended Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park, where he finished his high school tennis career with an undefeated 80-0 record and four consecutive state singles championships.
He later became one of America’s most accomplished doubles players. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Sock won mixed doubles gold with Bethanie Mattek-Sands and men’s doubles bronze with Steve Johnson.
The former world No. 8 also won four Grand Slam doubles titles before retiring from professional tennis in 2023 and moving into pickleball.
Wedding Felt Different Than Jack Sock Expected

Despite its reported scale and celebrity-heavy guest list, Sock suggested the wedding did not unfold exactly as he had imagined. “It was unbelievable in so many ways,” he explained. “It was different than I was expecting maybe in some ways. So, overall it was just a crazy experience.”
Other guests have made similar observations about the event. Country singer Brad Paisley called it the “least pretentious” wedding he had attended, while ABC’s George Stephanopoulos said it felt surprisingly personal despite taking place inside Madison Square Garden.
“The whole evening felt very guest-centric,” another source told People. “There was always something to do, see or play. There was never a dull moment.”
The venue reportedly included games, elaborate giveaways and multiple entertainment areas designed to prevent the reception from feeling like a conventional arena event.
Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce’s Star-Studded Celebration

Swift and Kelce married nearly one year after announcing their engagement in August 2025. The bride and groom wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture designed by Jonathan Anderson, with Swift accessorizing her gown with Cartier jewelry and custom Christian Louboutin shoes.
The couple skipped traditional bridesmaids and groomsmen. Swift selected her brother, Austin, as her man of honor, while Jason Kelce served as his younger brother’s best man.
Sandler’s appearance as officiant initially caused guests to laugh because they believed his arrival at the altar was another joke. However, the actor had become legally ordained and reportedly delivered a ceremony that mixed humor with sincere relationship advice.
The guest list bridged entertainment, sports and music. Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Hanks and Sabrina Carpenter were among the stars linked to the celebration.
