Scott Eastwood has spent decades working in Hollywood, but one recent experience left him questioning how some of the industry’s biggest stars conduct themselves behind the scenes.
Speaking candidly during a podcast appearance, the actor recalled an uncomfortable clash with an unnamed A-lister and explained why he believes fame can sometimes erase accountability and lead to costly consequences for everyone involved.
Scott Eastwood Opens Up About A Troubling On Set Dispute
During an appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Scott Eastwood reflected on what he described as some of the worst behavior he has witnessed while working in the film business.
Without identifying the actor involved, Scott explained that the disagreement unfolded after production had already begun on a movie. According to him, the unnamed star abruptly decided they no longer wanted to work alongside another cast member, despite investors having already committed significant funds to the project.
Recalling the incident, Scott said per the Daily Mail, “Some of the accountability in this industry is just unbelievable.”
He continued, “I just worked with somebody and, without saying any names, people get too famous for too long and think the world owes them something.”
According to Eastwood, the situation became even more frustrating when the production had to absorb the financial impact of the decision.
He revealed, “We started working on a film with a director, and they decided after we’d already spent a bunch of money that they just didn’t want to work with this other person.”
Scott said he challenged the actor over the financial fallout.
“I was like, ‘Okay, then you need to pay that money back to the person who invested in you.’ They were like, ‘I’m not gonna do that,'” he said.
Scott Eastwood Says Accountability Is Missing In Hollywood

Scott said he believed there was an obvious solution once the actor decided to leave the production.
He explained that repaying the investors would have been “the right thing to do,” but said the performer chose to walk away instead.
“They just left because they didn’t want to work with another person after we’d already started pre-production,” he recalled.
The experience reinforced his belief that certain behavior tolerated in Hollywood would never be accepted elsewhere.
Scott contrasted that experience with the values he learned from his father, Clint Eastwood, whose approach to filmmaking shaped his own outlook long before he built an acting career.
He said Clint always believed in showing up prepared, working hard, and never expecting special treatment, a mindset Scott continues to follow today.
Scott Credits His Father For Keeping Him Grounded

Scott Eastwood said his father’s example taught him that acting should always be approached as a profession rather than a privilege.
He recalled growing up around movie sets and witnessing behavior that convinced him exactly how he did not want to carry himself in the business.
“I think I was lucky in some ways because I got to see it growing up and got to see how it’s bulls***,” he said.
The actor also praised Clint Eastwood for shielding his family from the pressures that often come with fame.
He shared, “I mean, kudos to my dad, cause he did a really good job of protecting us from that and [was] very private.”
Scott Eastwood On His Childhood

Rather than growing up in Los Angeles, Scott said his childhood in Carmel gave him the chance to experience a more ordinary life.
He said, “We didn’t live in LA, we lived in Carmel. It was a very… as normal as it could be, in the sense that he was like, ‘No, you just need to be a normal child and learn how the world works.'”
That upbringing, Scott believes, kept him from developing the sense of entitlement he now criticizes in some corners of the entertainment industry.
Scott Shares The Lesson He Still Lives By

The conversation eventually turned to acting itself, with Joe Rogan observing that performers who become famous at a young age can sometimes struggle to mature emotionally.
Scott Eastwood agreed that maintaining perspective is essential, explaining that he and his father have always viewed filmmaking as work rather than something that should consume their entire identity.
He laughed off the idea of staying in character around the clock, saying he has never wanted to become “one of these crazy psychos” who refuses to step away from a role after the cameras stop rolling.
Instead, he said Clint’s practical advice has guided him throughout his career.
Scott said, “My dad was never like that. He was like, it’s a job. Like go to work, do the best you can, put in the reps, make sure you know your sh-t and you come prepared, and you have something interesting, but leave it at the door.”
For Scott, that philosophy remains the biggest lesson he has carried into Hollywood. While he has worked alongside many respected actors, he believes professionalism matters just as much as talent.
