Oct 2026 - Sports Lunatics - 45th Anniversary of Blue Monday and the Ottawa RedBlacks Actually Win!
The Sports Lunatics Show
Monday, October 19, 2026 - 39 minutes
Shawn and Howie start off by talking about the agony of October 19, 1981, when Rick Monday hammered the National League Championship Series winning home run off Steve Rogers in the ninth inning of Game Five of that series to break the hearts of Canadian baseball fans everywhere. From that they pivot to Friday, October 16 when the Ottawa RedBlacks collected their first victory in more than a year, 40-39, over the Toronto Argonauts. Howie was there covering the game for local television. A great conversation of memories and moments.
