Sharon Osbourne reportedly hoped Ozzy Osbourne‘s passing would help heal the rift between their daughters, Aimee and Kelly Osbourne. Instead, the sisters appear to remain as distant as ever.

The sisters came together publicly for their father’s funeral in Birmingham, England, but that reunion did not appear to resolve the tension between them. According to the insider, Sharon had hoped the difficult period would give her daughters a reason to reconsider their differences.

“Sharon was desperately hoping that things might be better with the kids after Ozzy’s death,” the source said, adding that she thought the loss could persuade them “to put their baggage to the side.”

That reconciliation has yet to happen. The insider described the situation as “incredibly heartbreaking for Sharon,” particularly because the mother of three loves all of her children and finds their inability to get along painful.

Kelly offered a more personal explanation for the sisters’ estrangement during the September 15 episode of Paul C. Brunson’s “We Need to Talk” podcast. She claimed Aimee did not really acknowledge her or their brother, Jack, while they were growing up.

“She was just in her own world doing her own thing,” Kelly said, per People Magazine. She also emphasized how different they have always been, describing their personalities and relationship as “oil and water.”

For Kelly, however, the issue goes beyond having little in common. She admitted that she has struggled with feeling as though she missed out on the experience of having an older sister to guide her through life.

“I will tell you it’s one of the hardest things of my life, that I never got a big sister,” Kelly explained. She said she had to figure out certain things by herself that she believed an older sister should have helped her with.

The reality TV star added that, “I do have a resentment there. I’ll have that forever.”

Kelly’s public remarks apparently came as a surprise to Aimee. A source close to the sisters said the eldest Osbourne sibling was confused by what Kelly had said about their relationship.

“Aimee is bewildered,” the insider said, adding that she “is not taking this well.” The source also suggested that Aimee could choose to respond publicly, potentially making an already strained relationship even more difficult.

Such a development would be particularly upsetting for Sharon. Having already hoped that Ozzy’s passing might encourage her daughters to reconnect, she now faces the possibility of their disagreements becoming even more public.

“The last thing she needs is her girls going at it like this,” the source said, describing further escalation between the sisters as “horrendous” for their mother.

Kelly Osbourne Isn’t The Only Sibling With A Strained Relationship With Aimee

Kelly is not alone in having a distant relationship with Aimee. Before Ozzy’s passing, Jack Osbourne acknowledged that he and his eldest sister also had very little contact with each other.

“We’re not close at all,” Jack said during an appearance on the “Disrespectfully” podcast, according to People Magazine. He added that they “don’t have a great relationship” and said Aimee would readily acknowledge their lack of closeness as well.

Jack linked some of that distance to the different path Aimee chose during the family’s reality television years.

While he and Kelly became central figures on “The Osbournes,” he said Aimee wanted to build a music career without appearing to benefit from her family’s fame.

Aimee Osbourne Has Always Desired A Life Away From Her Famous Family

Aimee’s distance from her siblings also reflects a broader decision she made years ago to keep much of her life separate from the family’s public image.

When “The Osbournes” began filming, she declined to participate and moved out of the family home at just 16.

Sharon later explained that her eldest daughter strongly disliked the idea of growing up in front of cameras.

“She felt too that she didn’t want to grow up on camera,” Sharon said during a 2018 episode of “The Talk” show. “She hated the idea. It was appalling to her.”

Aimee herself has said privacy was something she valued even within such a famous household. She wanted the opportunity to develop her own identity rather than have her teenage years permanently defined by how the public saw her. The reality show, she explained, simply “didn’t really line up with what I saw my future as.”

That choice has remained consistent throughout her adult life. Although Aimee pursued music under the name ARO and occasionally stepped into the public eye, she largely avoided the reality-TV lifestyle embraced by other members of her family.
