The “Bodak Yellow” singer also opened up about fame and all that comes with it, admitting that she sometimes feels like she “didn’t apply for this.”

For Cardi, leaving something behind for her children is no longer just about the success of her music. The rapper said she began thinking seriously about what would happen to her fortune if she were no longer around to provide for them. 

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight,  Cardi admitted, “I was panicking” at the thought of her children being left with only her music royalties. She explained that she wants Kulture, Wave, Blossom and her youngest son to have assets of their own, including properties and liquid money.

 “I leave this earth, and my kids are going to have just music royalties, and they’re mostly going to have to be arguing with people about it,” she said, describing the thought that left her troubled.

That realization pushed her to think beyond her catalog and create assets that her children could directly benefit from. “They’re going to have a couple of properties and a couple of liquid money,” she explained.

Cardi also made it clear that the planning is rooted in a simple question: what can she leave behind that belongs to her children? She is thinking not only about what they will inherit but also about the kind of people they will become. 

The Rapper Gets Candid About Motherhood And Its Demands 

Being a mom of four is motivation enough for Cardi. She has a daughter, Kulture; a son, Wave; another daughter, Blossom; and her youngest son, whom she shares with Stefon Diggs.

Her first three children are with estranged husband Offset, while her youngest was born in November 2025.

Her children have remained an important part of her public life, with Cardi frequently sharing milestones and glimpses into their personalities. But beyond the birthday celebrations and family moments, she has also spoken about the responsibility she feels to prepare them for life.

“Your kids never leave your mind,” she said in an interview, according to People Magazine. “Not for a second. You think about them all day.”

She added that being a mom is “really hard” and a “nonstop job,” noting that’s the case “whether you have money or not.”

As The Blast reported, the “WAP” rapper recently admitted that fame brought a level of pressure she never fully anticipated. While she is proud of what she has accomplished, she acknowledged that celebrity life comes with constant scrutiny and expectations.

“I have proven a lot of people wrong over and over and over again,” Cardi said, reflecting on her rise. “Sometimes I feel I didn’t apply for this.”

The rapper explained that there is no real way to be completely prepared for the pressure. Instead, she said people have to find a mechanism that works for them when dealing with it.
