On October 13, her son, Collin Gosselin, will release a memoir about his time on the reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8” and being allegedly abused by his parents. According to a source, Kate is “nervous” about the book’s release. The insider also claimed the former TLC star is furious that the 22-year-old would expose their family so publicly.

“There is no doubt Kate is nervous this book is about to hit,” a source said, according to The Blast. “Kate doesn’t want anyone in the family to talk about their past. She considers any of the children who talk in the family as traitors.”

The book, titled “In the Shadow of Eight,” will hit shelves in the coming weeks, and according to Collin, he’s finally giving the public insight into what they don’t know about his family.

“Growing up, millions of people watched my life on television. People felt like they knew me. They knew my family. They watched me grow up. But there was so much they never saw,” he said. “Writing this book forced me to revisit some of the hardest moments of my life, but it also gave me something I’ve been searching for for a long time: my voice.”

Collin has been teasing his book’s release for months, and social media users seem pressed to read about his experience.

Some have even recently reacted to Kate’s alleged reaction to the book and implied they were siding with Collin.

“She should be very nervous,” someone wrote, while another posted, “I guess this is what you get exploiting conscious creatures.”

A third said, “Maybe he wrote something to hurt her feelings, which I hope he does. She deserves [it] after how she treated him. She was a witch.”

A fourth blasted Kate as the “traitor” and criticized her for selling out “her children for money.”

Kate Gosselin Has Implied That She Considered Filing A Lawsuit Over Claims In The Book

Not all fans are siding with Collin, though. Earlier this year, Kate interacted with fans on social media and responded to a user who suggested she file a lawsuit over alleged false claims in her son’s book.

According to her, she can’t move forward with any suit because “the rules are different for people in the public eye.” She said she “consulted” a Los Angeles attorney who allegedly told her taking legal action wouldn’t be worth it.

“The courts don’t honor it if you’re in the public eye,” she said.

Collin Is Separating Himself From His Mom

As he gears up for his book’s release, Collin is also promoting his appearance on Fox’s “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.”

His mother appeared in season 1 of the show but was forced to withdraw in the first episode after a difficult helicopter jump.

But according to Collin, he’s not concerned about his mother’s experience on the show or her worries about him.

“I’m an adult now, and there’s enough of my life that my mom took from me and [my] childhood that she robbed from me, and this isn’t about her — it’s about me,” he said boldly. “It’s about growth. It’s about the amazing people I’ve met, and the amazing journey and adventure that we went on.”

Filming The Show Was ‘Healing’ For Collin

Collin is one of many public figures appearing in the latest season of “Special Forces,” during which the cast members participate in a series of challenging training exercises inspired by the US Special Forces selection process.

While fans won’t know Collin’s place on the show until it concludes, the TV personality implied in a previous interview that he was grateful for the experience.

“It was just so healing to be able to look at a picture of myself and be like, ‘That’s what I’m doing it for,’ and then think about all the millions of children who go through what I went through — getting thrown into the industry against their will,” he said.
