Miley Cyrus released her latest album, “BASS PERSAUDES,” and reflected on the milestone on Instagram. Cyrus first teased the album weeks ago, releasing the lead single of the same name and describing the project as a “love story.” Before that, Cyrus made headlines when she revealed she was using only her first name after more than 20 years in the spotlight.

Cyrus shared a carousel of images from the album photoshoot on Instagram. In the caption, the “Hannah Montana” alum reflected on the special project and shared more about how the 11-song tracklist came to be.
“This album happened fast, but that’s been my life for 20 years,” she said. “Once I started wishing to land a role that would make LA my home, it’s been nonstop.”
Cyrus went on to say that “BASS PERSUADES” is a “reflection of everywhere” she’s been throughout her career and “the peace that came with starting to slow it all down.”
She finished, “Thank you for celebrating this release with me. It’s a special record, and it’s bliss to share with you. Love always.”
Miley Cyrus Previously Described The Upcoming Project As A ‘Love Story’
Cyrus previously opened up about making her album, according to a report from The Blast, and said the project would explore deeply personal themes.
“This album is a love story, but love stories are never one-dimensional. They’re always layered,” she said. “There is definitely a romantic thread weaving through it because, like all my records, it’s a reflection of where I am in my life. But this one feels especially meaningful because this feeling has stayed with me through multiple eras.”
She continued, “That’s something I hadn’t really experienced before. A peaceful kind of love has become a theme across my last three records. Not just the love I share with someone else, but the love I’ve found for myself.”
In a separate post promoting the project, Cyrus shared even more thoughts about her 10th studio album and explained how much the batch of songs means to her. “Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong. Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me,” she said.

Miley Cyrus Is Returning To The Stage
To promote her project, Cyrus is returning to the stage to perform solo for the first time since 2022. Per The Blast, Cyrus will have two shows at the Hollywood Bowl in October 2026.
“It’s been a while,” she said. “The Hollywood Bowl is my favorite place to experience music and see my favorite artists. I’ve sat in those seats many times, but I’ve never taken the stage. LA is my heart, and I’m bringing it home. See you there. Miley.”
Speaking with Apple Music, Cyrus spilled the beans about her upcoming performances, saying she chose the Hollywood Bowl because it’s close to home.
Elsewhere during the interview, Cyrus addressed the high demand for the shows, saying fans should do everything they can to snag a ticket.
“This is the ultimate dress rehearsal. I’ve learned now through the queue that my calculations are correct, and people will come to me. I don’t need to drive to you,” she said. “This is proof of concept and potentially the beginning of something broader, but within your own terms.”
Cyrus Makes A Major Name Change At The Beginning Of September 2026
Cyrus’ album also comes amid the singer’s recent name change. According to The Blast, Cyrus revealed on social media that she was dropping her last name and going by her first name only.
The “Bolt” actress first teased the change alongside a promo shot from “BASS PERSUADES,” writing plainly, “MILEY.”
Billy Ray Cyrus Reacts To Daughter’s Name Change
Cyrus’ dad, Billy Ray, reacted with a heartfelt Instagram post and said he believed his daughter’s move made sense given her level of fame.
“I told Miley yesterday I felt good about her going with her first name,” he said, adding that other major artists like Cher, Dolly Parton, Elvis, and Prince have gone by their first names as well.
He finished by saying Cyrus’ choice felt like a “natural progression for an iconic superstar legend.”
