Teigen has hit back at critics after posting a series of Instagram photos in which her n-pple is visible through a sheer white shirt.
In the comments under the June 28 carousel, the 40-year-old model explained that she doesn’t view her breasts as sexualized in the same way others might, referencing past surgeries and breastfeeding.
She wrote that they’ve been “cut into disks and reattached” and have also “fed babies,” adding that she personally doesn’t see her “nips” as risqué, while acknowledging that others may feel differently.
Teigen also addressed critics with a light tone, saying, “I hope u will survive it. Almost sure u will. Love u so much.”
The post included five images, four of which showed the sheer outfit revealing her right n-pple, while another showed her covering it with her arm. Supporters quickly filled the comments section with messages defending her openness, including others who shared similar experiences. Her husband, musician John Legend, also showed public support by leaving a heart emoji.

The Model’s Bold Post Received Support From People Online

On social media, fans and followers of Teigen were split over her racy Instagram photos, with some defending the mother of four’s right to show off parts of her body.
“It’s craaazy that ppl are still clutching their pearls over n-pples in the year 2026. In this heat?! In this economy?!! I pray for you haters in the name of Beyonce, Bad Bunny, and the NY Knicks,” a fan wrote in defense of Teigen.
Another person noted, “I love when people freak out over nips as if arts, history, museums, statues and all didn’t already show us plenty of…”

Chrissy Teigen Opens Up About Her Cosmetic Surgery Journey

Teigen has previously been open about her experience with cosmetic surgery, revealing that she has undergone three separate breast procedures over the years.
During a 2024 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” the model reflected on the changes she has made, explaining that she has had a breast lift, implants inserted and later removed. While discussing the surgeries, she admitted that she was not entirely satisfied after having the implants taken out.
The cookbook author first spoke publicly about getting breast implants in 2020, sharing that she underwent the procedure when she was 20 years old while pursuing a modeling career.
At the time, she explained: “I thought if I’m going to be posing, laid on my back, I want them to be perky! But then you have babies, and they fill up with milk and deflate, and now I am screwed,” she continued.
She added: “I had a quarter ‘teardrop’ cup in the bottom and filled out the breast line. But I want them out now. If I could do one thing, it would be to have a lift.”
The Model Has Become Known For Her Candid And Sometimes Unfiltered Comments

Teigen has built a reputation for sharing unfiltered glimpses into her life, a habit that has occasionally sparked online controversy.
In 2024, she faced criticism after Legend posted a video of her exfoliating in bathwater that appeared discolored. After viewers questioned the footage, Teigen clarified that the water was dark because she was removing body makeup.
The following year, she again faced online debate after sharing images of a coconut milk bath taken with her children, prompting further reactions from critics. She responded by clarifying that it was intended for “sensitive skin,” dismissing the controversy.
Beyond the candid social media moments and lifestyle updates, Teigen has also been open about some of the most difficult experiences in her personal life.
Earlier this month, the model shared an emotional tribute following the death of her father, Ron Teigen Sr., revealing the profound impact of the loss. In a heartfelt Instagram post accompanied by family videos, she reflected on how ordinary the day had seemed before her father’s passing. “Yesterday I woke up with a daddy and went to bed without one,” she wrote.
Chrissy Teigen Recalls Final Message To Her Father Before His Death

Teigen admitted she had long believed she was emotionally prepared for the moment, having often thought about the reality of losing her father as he grew older.
However, when it happened, she said the grief overwhelmed her in a way she had not expected. She also reflected on a recent opportunity to express her gratitude, revealing that she had written her father a letter months earlier thanking him for his years of hard work, love, and support.
Teigen said she remains grateful that she was able to share those thoughts with him while he was still alive.
Alongside the emotional memories, she recalled her father’s unique personality with affection and humor, joking that he disliked almost everything except a handful of passions, including bass guitar, swing dancing, wood carving, animals, YouTube, and his family. She said the many videos she has of him complaining about everyday things now bring her comfort and laughter.
Concluding the tribute, Teigen promised to continue talking to her father every night and thanked him for being “such a great dad,” ending her message with the words, “Until we complain again.”
