Recovery residences are permitted to operate outside DHCS oversight, provided their role is limited to sober housing rather than clinical care. Services involving detox, counseling, treatment plans, or group therapy would place a facility under different regulatory requirements.

Questions have nevertheless emerged about whether Presley should have been admitted there. People in his circle believe he should have been directed to a detox center instead.

There Have Been Troubling Details About The Facility Founder’s Past

Attention has also turned to the professional history of Resolutions Therapeutic Services founder Reza Nabavi. State records reviewed by TMZ show that his registered psychologist license was temporarily revoked years before he established the facility.

The suspension occurred in 2006, and Nabavi was subsequently placed on probation for five years. He was also reportedly instructed to stay away from alcohol and controlled substances during that period.

The reason behind the original suspension remains unclear. Nabavi later established Resolutions Therapeutic Services in 2013, several years after the disciplinary action.

Police Continue To Investigate Presley Gerber’s Final Hours

Santa Monica police responded to the facility at approximately 9:35 a.m. after receiving a call concerning a suspected overdose. Presley was found unresponsive, and officers attempted to resuscitate him.
